Make sure you know what youre headed for, Israel in real life isn't like Israel of the dreams.
Moving to a new country is always difficult. Some people adjust better than others. Also it depends on many outside factors as well such as financial situation and into what community you move into etc. Meanwhile I'd say they're pretty invested in moving at this point and I'm sure they've been warned. Hope the move goes smooth. Good luck with the contest! And may you have many happy and healthy years over there in the Holy land.
Nothing to do with moving to a new country, peoples perception of Israel is very often very different than what the society really is.
That's why ppl should move here irregardless of other ppl's behaviours, but b/c they believe it's what God wants them to. That way, it'll minimize the impact that other ppl's behavior has on them.
Yes but no one asked our opinions
Why do I fell this can get ugly.
+1, not the place for it. It's clear the decision has already been made.
+1 That's all I was trying to see really. The pros and cons of moving to Israel should have it's own thread.
everyone will have their own pros and cons. Everyone has their own experience. Israel is not for everyone
The pros and cons of moving to Israel should have it's own thread.
Sorry, the din is הוי גולה למקום תורה, which is precisely 'other peoples behavior'. Throughout the years many poskim did not move to Israel because of a better spiritual environment elsewhere. If that is the case (every person is different) then it is not what Gd wants.
