How does one transfer/convert Amex miles into American Airlines points?

So I have an AA reservation which requires 160k miles & have 35k American Airlines Advantage pts.
Is there anyway to transfer Amex pts to cover the difference?
American airlines operator said they are not an Amex partner.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as my reservation expires 6/24

you are sol. unless you transfer amex into spg i think its 2;1 ratio and then transfer into aa, but that will take more then 4 days

Might work with the following conditions (I think):
1. BA and IB accts have to be 3 months old.
2. Flights must not be BA.
3. Flights must be on airlines that are IB partners (non-OneWorld BA partners might not partner with IB.

How long does an SPG transfer to AA take? Just made 5 day hold but still not sure if I am going to book the ticket so want to hold out on the transfer as long as I can. I am short exactly 600 miles, having gotten to tickets at 17.5k from OGG to EWR. Other option would be to buy 1k points for 30 dollars from AA. The value of the points is say 13 dollars (?) so that is a 17 dollar hit.

Also if I would book all the way to Europe using EWR as a stopover how would it price out assuming I would use second portion next August? First leg is for October. I am 90% sure I will not use it regardless but may be worth it just in case.

I had the same issue, and after a week and a half they hadn't transferred. SPG allowed me to cancel the transfer, and I used a family members account to book the second tik. Perhaps a program like Wyndham would transfer quicker, but I kinda doubt it.

Def not scientific, but if it's truly done is kavua sweeps, than you can calculate from his experiment what day the sweeps are done on.

Except you dont know if the day the transfer went through was because that is the "sweep day" or if there is a specific amount of days that passed.
The only way to confirm that would be to do the experiment as Dan suggested.

Truth is I'd do it myself daily for the next week, but with R"H and all the other holidays in the way it's not really possible for the next month.
