Passengers needs to be on their own itinerary to be CPU eligible, so you can use the “split travelers” option to make everyone on their own itinerary if they were booked separately.
Did you split everyone onto their own PNR?
why would u need to do that?
@Dan, finally you're not the only one in this thread
Dan where did u get that from that they need to be on their own itinerary. I have many times booked a ticket for me and my wife using my FIL miles and we both have been upgraded without splitting our reservation. Can you explain if im missing something?
I just put each one onto their own PNR. Once I did it UA added the upgrade message next to the flights #.It's defiantly worth 37.5k to upgrade if I opens up. the question is do I have high chances of getting upgraded and it's a waist of miles. what will DDF members do in my situation?
Lol.When I'm booked with someone else the upgrade message is never there. When I book for multiple people besides me on a res then it's there, but it will only upgrade if the EUA has 2 seats, otherwise you get skipped. Many times EUA will dole out 1 at a time, so even if you do have the upgrade message you can still increase the odds of upgrades by splitting the PNR.Happy that worked. Is there confirmed upgrade space with miles now or is there a waitlist?
Happy that worked.

As a 1K the CPU system checks 96, 72, 48, 24, and 4 hours before a flight for upgrade inventory.
Very easy to split online.
Do UA GS members get CPU"s on award tickets?
Yes
