Of course, opinions are always like that. It also is all relative. Almost any deem would be considered conservative in some countries.

But I can't think of any mentioned here recently who would fit the bill as typically used in the U.S.now.

I'm sure you're ready to explain to us exactly how this 'preliminary deal', which hasn't had any input from Canada yet, is better for the US than NAFTA, right?

ETA: To be clear, I haven't seen enough detail in the articles I've flipped through on this subject to answer how it compares to NAFTA, and who it benefits. But it's the knee jerk reaction you see with every story of every Trump supporter to seize on anything the admin calls good news or progress as the greatest thing to happen in decades, and the opposite on the other side of the aisle, all without any significant understanding of the underlying subject matter - and that bothers me.

i agree with your ‘eta’ but will point out that dems do the same thing with their accomplishments (see multiple “legacies” that Obama has created...)
