Gifting/Buying SPG points to get 1MM AA Gold

Comments please for this idea to get 100,000 SPG:

Buy 20,000 points @ $560 for myself and open SPG acc'ts for wife and 3 kids and gift them 20,000 each @ $560?  Will this work? I don't see any restrictions from SPG site, only that purchaser/gifter must have acc't open 30 days and each account can receive max 20k miles/year.  Anyone with experience doing this?  I'm @850k lifetime AA miles.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Just called SPG and Tiffany didn't seem to know too much until she looked stuff up but she did confirm that the recipients account doesn't have to have any 30 day minimum and the above plan should work.  anyone have any different info?
