Well not in LW where we have 45 min routes and where temps in June and Sept can reach 95 easily.
Should be required by federal law.

my coworker (not jewish) told me that most public schools have no ac whatsoever. i never knew that and it boggled my mind! that's why some schools start in August and end in May (not so hot in Washington or wherever) and some start in September and end in June

My SIL is a teacher in a public school and they had an issue with their AC in the beginning of the Summer (a few really hot days), kids were literally becoming sick and vomiting from the heat, they didn't close the school. This went on for a couple of days (don't remember how long)

i asked her that! how can kids sit and learn in sweltering heat?! she said a- they're used to it, b- they open a window.

seriously?! when they lower the voltage here in NYC during heat waves, i just want to call in sick and take a cold shower for a day and a half! i don't get it.

We pay 10k+ a year for PS tuition. They should be able to afford ac.
