CNN Airport Network To End Operations As Of March 31

CNN President Jeff Zucker has notified CNN staff that the CNN Airport Network which delivers customized live news, sports and entertainment to 60 airports in the United States, will end operations as of March 31.

I wonder what was different about this network. Things that come to mind:
- Ads targeting travelers?
- News that is somehow optimized for people waiting in an airport?
- More ads than usual because the audience is captive/sitting around waiting (bored?)
- Framing negative travel-related news stories differently
- Feature pieces focused on travel?
- Paid informercials marketing travel brands/destinations
- What else?
