Actually, no one is saying its wrong because they are jealous. They are telling you it's wrong since its against halacha to steal and cheat (even with rationalizing), something you clearly do not care about. I would advise you not to be a witness at a wedding since you would invalidate it. So sad that you steal but at least some seichel. How do you walk out of a Jos. A. Bank with wrong size shoes? Did you try them on? For multiple reasons you scare me.

Actually, they did not have my size in stock, but I would have to be a complete idiot to walk out without buying a different size, and then exchanging it in a store that DOES have my size.

As for the "stealing" question, I would agree that going back and returning it for the full value is very iffy, but buying it at the lower price is not an issue at all, because for all I knew, it may not even have been a price mistake, but rather a liquidation sale.

In general, there is a trend (esp. on DD) to talk down to people who got in on a good deal, and making themselves feel good by telling them that "it's geneiva". I wasn't quick enough to get in on the ELAL price mistake either, but I didn't start criticizing those who did.
