I have a few siblings scheduled to come back to Israel from Newark, booked on LX & LH. What’s the best strategy?

If I am reading this correctly as EWR-TLV there should be space available on LY with fixed price

No idea, wishing you luck. Have a plan for what you’ll do from VRN onward, as it isn’t a major airport and doesn’t have onward connections to the USA.

First let me and family get out of Israel...
I can either drive to MXP, or stay over shabbos in Venice.

I also booked Monday morning ElAl to Naples. And Sunday night Emirates to Dubai, Milan then JFK

The simplest solution is for the israeli transport authoroties to arrange with a relativlely near by airport (like Larnaca) for that to be a transffer location for TLV flights. Delta jfk-to that city, transfer to israeli flagged plane to TLV.

These are the flights I know of; there are likely others. Some are operating from nearby countries (Cyprus, Jordan, etc.) with a ferry system, and most are on government or air force aircraft.

My understanding is that most are pushing it off right now and most Roshei Yeshiva are telling their talmidim to wait, especially those going now for the first time.

LCA doesn't have direct flights to the US AFAIK. I would guess that ATH, FCO, or IST are better options to find onward flights.
