I just booked a seat on TAM ! JFK - YYZ 4,500 avios
for my son to go back to yeshiva after Pesach.
When I tried booking it on line, it wouldn't complete the transaction. It would error out at the last, making a booking number, page. I tried several times on 2 different browsers.
So I called. Only 5 min of wait time! I thought maybe I hadn't connected to the right airline.
I got her to ask a manger to wave the phone booking fee because it didn't book on line. Done.
But then she charged $9.60 in taxes. She claimed this was the usual amount. I didn't send her back to the supervisor, though I probably should have.
Is there a legitimate reason the charge was $9.60 not $5.60?
If I was charged incorrectly, is there anything I can do now?
