Are Oral-B toothbrush heads interchangeable?

If so, is there any practical difference between the cheaper and more expensive brush handles? And this link seems to imply that most of the heads ARE interchangeable: http://www.oralb.com/products/replacement-electric-toothbrush-heads/

Anyone have any knowledge or experience?

My wife and I have 2 different ones and the are not interchangeable.
