What is amazing is how despite the polling data showing that the vast majority wanted the Senate trial more in line with Dem demands than how the Rs conducted it, the congressional Rs seem to have gained from the process as well.
When dealing with polling on issues (as opposed to candidates) it's important to look at how they ask the questions, and not just the bottom line.
For example, in theory most people want to hear what Bolton has to say, but many of them likely did not think it would be appropriate to extend the trial to call him for a variety of reasons. (For example Executive privilege, the partisan nature of the process or because it wouldn't change the outcome)
