Citi in NY pulls from either Equifax or Experian or both. YMMV even by the same person.

If you live in NJ or NY, you should freeze your Experian. They will only pull Equifax then. Otherwise, YMMV.

FOR MORE INFO, READ FT'S WIKI - IT IS PHENOMENAL, FT WIKI

Quote from the above mentioned FT WIKI:
For the most part, freezing Experian, or another bureau, will not cause Citi to pull a different bureau. They will almost certainly require you to unfreeze the bureau they wish to pull or deny your application. Some people have been successful providing the PIN but others have not. Mostly, freezing a credit bureau in an attempt to force Citi to pull a different one seems to waste time, money, and effort for little result. But YMMV.

DDF data points (As of 10/2015)
NY- pulls both EQ/EX, can still get instant approval with EX frozen
CA, OH, PA, TX- ONLY EX. Citi will refuse to pull other bureau

Benefits:..
New no forex fees starting Nov.'15

From FT Wiki:"Important exception: If you receive a Platinum World MC which is later converted to a World Elite MC (as indicated on the back of the card), the opening of that card will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule. This is true not only for conversions in early 2015, but also for those in more recent months.
Note: It makes no difference when (or whether) you activate the World Elite card. If you have the WE card in hand, then the conversion on Citi's books is already complete. There is nothing magical about activating it.
There are a few reports that some Gold World MC are being converted to Gold World Elite MC and that will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule."
UPDATE: As of 02/18/2016 (for applications after 02/09/2016), the W>WE loophole may be dead.

Before makes most sense and then they will most likely just say that they will add it to your AA Account once spend is met or in next statement.
Thanks

People match to 60k before or after meeting spend?

No difference.

Besides for my current Citi AA (which is world elite) I had a different Citi AA which I closed in April or may. Does that mean I'm within the 18 month no-go zone? Or was that also likely a World elite?
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

Which Citi AA card was it - Bronze, Gold, Plat, Executive?

Platinum

Look at the card and see if it's W or WE.

I don't have the card. I closed it in April.

On second thought...I actually converted the account to a Citi Double Cash. Will that have the same effect as if it was converted to WE (effectively removing the original AA from the system)?

I don't know what you mean by " original time you had it".

It enabled you to open a new account within 18 months of opening the AA?

Just got alert that new card was shipped. Can i apply and if denied just ask move credit line from old card if they give me issues. Took a score hit for a stupid mistake that cannot be fixed right now.
Fair warning - Any PMs sent in response to forum posts are fair game for ridicule in public.

Should put this in the 'dumb mistakes' thread, but I just realized that I forgot to cancel my executive card. AF was billed on Oct 20th, is there any point in doing it now?

In doing what? Canceling it? No, take advantage and sell some AUs to some DDF'ers  :D

Is that what we're doing now? Wouldn't do that.  You're talking to the guy who gave away untold number of amex platinum codes.

Call them. I paid the AF, called them after the 37 days to cancel, told them I wouldn't be using the card much due to having the Prestige and liking it better.. They gave me a $450 bonus for 5k spend x 3 months.

$5k in three months or $5k each month for 3 months ($15k)?

Anyone else having a delay for the AA points to post to their AA account with Citi AA Plat? Statement closed on 12/24. Usually it only takes a day to appear on AA.com.

You think there's a delay because of the holidays or I just got lucky every other time when it posted within 24hrs?
