Title: Trying to print a document on staples.com but once uploaded the format is...
Post by: myi on January 04, 2019, 03:49:51 PM
I have a word document which is a colored print, now I tried to email it, then tried to upload it to staples print website. Each time I upload it,the document becomes disoriented after converting it to a pdf, while the word doc is fine the pdf changes the graphics on the picture. Trying to upload it without changing the docs, anyway to do that? I tried a website like pdf2go and cloudconvert, nothing seems to help.

Can you print it as a PDF? For example CutePDF (Not save as PDF)

Or, from word you should be able to export it as PDF.

From my experience, save as can also botch you up

It's not save as, it's a separate thing called Export

You can always try a screenshot

Even if I did that how would I send it to Staples to print without them changing the format?

1. You can't print a JPG?
2. change that format to PDF

You'll probably do better with a pdf, quality-wise.

When you go to file > print, are any of the choices of printers "Print to PDF" or something to that effect?

Been there, did that, and done that, tried printing it, still comes out with a disoriented background.

Here's another link.

Want it to look like this. But when changing to a pdf it all changes.

Here's a pdf version, messes the whole pic.

Even when uploading the Microsoft Word doc which is in the correct format, automatically Staples butchers up your picture.

Would love to have this by Monday the latest.
Cant seem to figure out what to do.

Here's a preview of what happens when uploading the doc, and staples changes the whole doc.

When you export to PDF is the PDF fine? And just uploading it to staples messes it up?

Nope pdf messes it up before uploading.
And staples messes up the word doc.

So I have no luck with either.

And if you print to PDF does it look fine? (I mean before uploading)

Nope once I change it to a pdf it messes up the whole file.
Very weird!
I wonder, what if you print it on your own printer, how does it look? Even if you only have a black and white printer, I'm curious if it messes up the layout whenever you print.

Yup , seems it's something to do with my Microsoft word. Because when I print it looks exactly like the pdf.

Very strange! But now you know staples's website is not the problem. You may do best with @Yammer 's idea of taking a screenshot.

Does staples let you upload a jpg? If not, you should try taking a screenshot and then using https://smallpdf.com/ or another service to convert it to a pdf.

Anyway to keep it from becoming more blurry?

I tried yesterday to print the file, and choose save to PDF. It's came up funny.

It's not your Microsoft word. I had the same problem when I tried it from my phone. It seems like to problem is the image background.

I chose that background from Microsoft Word.

Anyway to keep it from becoming more blurry?
Before taking the screenshot, zoom in as much as you can. You can even double click the ribbon to minimize it so you get more space on your screen.

Another option - can you right click on the background and save it as an image? Then delete the background and import the image you saved as a new background. Maybe then it'll work.

I think it also depends witch company you use.

Snipit tool is pretty blurry, but sure (something...don't remember the exact name) can save it directly to a PDF hence it's clearer.
