Flight times?

13:30-20:35
07:15-11:10

then 10/27

16:00-23:05

06:05-09:55

That number though of 180,000 seats added on the TLV-LHR route is pretty amazing

Was wondering where the 180k figure came from  ;D

From TPG

“While neither airline has alluded to such service modifications, the new London Heathrow/Tel Aviv service could eventually allow Delta to end the airline’s flights to Tel Aviv. Delta operates a single daily non-stop from its New York-JFK hub. Though the airline has previously signaled that the service has been a success, Virgin Atlantic’s new Tel Aviv service could allow Delta to exit the Israeli market and reallocate its equipment to other routes.”

Any thought on this actually happening? Seems very unlikely to me.

Typical TPG drivel.
And DL is adding a 2nd daily TLV flight! Bozos...

That's like saying:

"While neither airline has alluded to such service modifications, the new Frankfurt/Tel Aviv service could eventually allow United to end the airline’s flights to Tel Aviv. United operates two daily non-stop from its New York-EWR hub. Though the airline has previously signaled that the service has been a success, Lufthansa’s new Tel Aviv service could allow United to exit the Israeli market and reallocate its equipment to other routes.”

It's one of the daftest things I've read from TPG and that's saying something.

Intresting though that flight times won’t make a lot of their transatlantic flights from LHR. Unless they’re counting on DL flights.

5 flights a day to NYC
1 to SFO
1 to LAX
1 to BOS

(probably more, but that's all the ones I looked at)
 ... not enough?

LAX, SFO and ATL leave London too early to make the connection.

It's clear that NYC is their main focus.

with prem fares (lie flat) on lon-tlv on a seemingly stagnant $1600 and the abundance of lcc i am wondering if this is a nationality push by the CEO rather than smart business move

I'm thinking the same. As for a connection from the US, LHR has a few things going against it (size, cost, etc.), and the flight times seem far from ideal for connections. A 6am flight ex-TLV basically means you give up the night's sleep prior to the flight (hopefully to sleep during the flight), and a TLV arrival after 11pm (post 10/27) means you don't get to settle into bed at your destination anytime before midnight (at best).

most ex-tlv to EU are in the wee hours of the AM I was mainly questioning the economics  in terms of sending an a-330 with 31 j seats and cheap lcc competition

They probably don't know and figure it's worth the shot as DXB isn't working.

What ? ? ? ? ?

VS41 leaves LHR for SFO at 15:30 (not Mondays)
VS23 leaves LHR for LAX at 14:35 (not Wednesdays)
VS4009 (code share on Delta metal)  leaves LHR for ATL at 14:50

Even with the later morning schedule arriving at 11:10 all these flights are perfectly possible.

Would be a lot more interesting if they'd figure out a good destination beyond TLV and operate fifth freedom flights between that destination and TLV continuing to the UK.

All European flights leave in the early AM and arrive at crazier times like 3:35 from ZRH and others.
