PM me your name, DOB and flight details. I'll book it for you, send you the locator number, then you can book it from your own account. You must pay $40 via Chase QP before I give you the PNR. When you ticket it, it will waive the $75 fee.
Conditions apply.
I'll not refund the fee if you cancel within 24 hours.
There is a charge for rebooking, canceling, this applies to CLOSE-IN Booking fee only.
You must have enough miles to book.
You must be an active DDF member.
I just create the PNR, from there your'e on your own.
I found a way how to do it easily, wanna monetize and help my friends at the same time. It's not something I can share because there are some steps involved and you need to have a certain tier, so it's not easily duplicated.

Ok Dan did you figure this out yet?

Any metal or only United?

Any metal or only United?
Any metal as long as UA miles are used.

I mean booked by UA (he clearly meant that by asking "metal")

If booked by UA, metal doesn’t matter. There’s a close in fee for close-in award redemptions.
The question was whether OP can reduce it for all UA redemptions, or only UA redemptions on UA metal. (Metal is the operating airline).

Book w SQ or Avianca and don’t pay the fees. Simple.
-
... Except when it's not.
Like non-saver or YQ-incurring awards.

Odds are that if it’s nonsaver, you’re getting pretty crappy value for your points and should consider revenue. But yes it’s a fair point.

Lol. Besides AV is already $25 in general. Odds are that if it’s nonsaver, you’re getting pretty crappy value for your points and should consider revenue. But yes it’s a fair point.
Just plain LOL.

Yes, and this is with the assumption that the miles are not already in your UA account.
-
Obviously. There’s lots of assumptions including the assumption that you have miles. Just laying our broad alternative options to redeem UA flights without paying close in fees. Clearly $40 is better than $75 if UA miles of your only option.

No, thats not what you saidBook w SQ or Avianca and don’t pay the fees. Simple.
This is what you said, totally different tone of voice

No you are incorrect. Both of those statements I said. I am not writing a novel or a blog. It’s common sense that if you don’t have other star alliance miles, then your only option is UA miles.

So based on some rumors on various blogs, $75 close-in fee will be eliminated 11/15/19.
Oh and United’s award charts are going away (like Delta’s) on that date and move to dynamic award pricing. sighhh

I 'll try doing some bookings from now to burn UA miles. Nothing good left.

Though it doesn’t always work. And, even harder when it is a last minute booking as the change of date becomes much more apparent with respect to being within the 3 week window.
