Only Tapatalk.
I would go crazy trying to use the website.
Probably would spend less time on here if I used the site.

Tapatalk with Adguard for android, so no ads between posts.
Notifications, subscribed/participated topics, dark mode and formatting make me prefer that to even the desktop experience.

I miss out on polls, wikis and likes though..
ETA: using the menu to "open post URL" in my browser lets me like and view polls/wikis in 1 tap.

To be clear, I use Adguard to remove ads inside nearly all my apps/websites, Tapatalk is just one of many apps that become bearable.

As a plus, got those who don't have a filter on their phone (gasp!), they have an option to block adult content URLs alongside the adblocking via DNS.

The site UI is so awkward on mobile. You need toothpick sized fingers! How on earth do you masochists use it?!

It takes one tap to open on mobile, where you can like, view wikis and polls.

If I recall correctly, there was a short time where wikis showed on Tapatalk...

BTW, Of people posting in this thread, 8 of 10 used Tapatalk.

My goal of the poll was to see if the lack of people wanting a new forum (or even added features that would enhance the user experience on mobiles) was due to people liking Tapatalk at all.
But it seems quite clear that even this non-mobile-friendly-eye-straining-site is by far more preferred...
(With the added bonus of Tapatalk users not able to vote)

I personally hate mobile versions on 99.8% of sites. Including Amazon!
Takes away all the functionality of a site.

Advantages include:

  • No more annoying (inaccurate) notifications, experience the tranquility without the annoying buzzes!
Been on TT for ages but never set any notifications.
My emails dont either vibrate as I will see it a few minutes later either way.
Small steps to not letting a phone control you.

I use Tapatalk for this and several other forums.
No alerts and no emails and no ads (I think I paid for pro a few years ago).
Main reason I do it is because it remembers where I'm up to in each thread. Often I'll want to catch up but do it in short spurts, s la uncle john

if I'm understanding correctly, TT will allow you to stop reading a thread in the middle, then allow you to pick up at that spot later.

If I open a thread and read half way through the newest posts and then close it, are the rest of the posts that I didn't finish reading considered "read" on the site? The next time I click the "new" button doesn't it take me to the newest posts after all the posts I opened, even if I didn't read them all?

Especially useful for new members who find thousand page threads and want to read through it all in multiple sittings

Interesting. I find my self getting lost in all the scrolling, and much prefer the easy page number reference which gives it more structure. (Especially when viewing quoted posts)

I just 'read' a thread online from post #1 - #29.
I close the browser, reopened, and click new, and it took me to page two or post number 50. This is a three-page thread. So partially correct, but not anywhere near as good
