IIRC you can only search for 20 @ a time-1, and the code I provided searches CAK (along with the top 100 airports in the US)
Btw I'm sure a lot of people would really like it if you did an article about this on the main site I know you did a while ago but it wasn't very comprehensive unless you feel it isn't a good idea for other reasons but creating traffic wise I think its a good ideaOr if you could just explain what ITA Advanced Routing Codes are?

@JEWDA:How should I know ITA is a website?
Did it cross your mind, maybe I should go on ita and look?
@dan i just tried to search for a hidden city flight using matrix and for some reason when i type in multiple destinations it automatically clicks nonstop only which is obviously a problem i havent done this in a couple of weeks did something change, is there a way around this?Anybody know anything about this
Anybody know anything about this
ok so ITA has changed a bit recently there is now a 2000 mile radius search but there are restrictions with stops. It seems to be 1-5 airports no limit, 6-10 airports 1 stop, 11+ airports non stop...
ITA keeps getting less and less usefull >:(

, in IE i still get the old one.
Has to do with cache.
In Chrome I have the old version and in Chrome/Incognito I have the new version.
The new version stinks!
No more hidden city searches :-(Still doable, just more time consuming due to 10 city restriction.
Dan I hope u don't have to re do your PP for the seminar.
Hidden city search:Updated for those with the new matrix, but with 10x the work :P

In case anyone needs to search for a specific booking class (was just helping someone book into an SAA booking class to earn 150% on Aegean by paying an extra $250 instead of earning just 50%)Repost
SA / f bc=Q
Where SA is the 2 digit airline code and Q is the desired booking class and only a nonstop flight is desired.
Or
UA+ / f bc=Y
Where UA is the 2 digit airline code and Y is the desired booking class and you want connecting flight options as well.
/f bc=x
Search for X fare bucket
/f bc=x|bc=y|bc=z
Search for X, Y, and Z fare bucket
Fair enough, though this limits the search to one airline.True. I noticed after I posted.
Updated for those with the new matrix, but with 10x the work :Pi see that i am able to check more than 10 cities at once. how can i make sure it stays that way?
Can anyone here come up with a script to allow us to search 1 stop even with more than 10 airports in the new version?
I have the element in Chrome for both versions if that helps anyone.
I wish i could understand the lingo over here.do you want a direct flight to London? on a specific airline? class? what exactly do u want and then i can try to help u with the search
i'm looking to get from nyc to lon in simple words could someone pls explain how i search

In case anyone needs to search for a specific booking class (was just helping someone book into an SAA booking class to earn 150% on Aegean by paying an extra $250 instead of earning just 50%)Probably obvious, but to search for an El Al ticket in L or N class for example (just had to search for this, figured I'd post):
SA / f bc=Q
Where SA is the 2 digit airline code and Q is the desired booking class and only a nonstop flight is desired.
Or
UA+ / f bc=Y
Where UA is the 2 digit airline code and Y is the desired booking class and you want connecting flight options as well.
what is a hidden city search
Does anyone know if looking fares on ITA Matrix via KVS Tool works? It sure does :).
For example, this is the code give by KVS to look if seats are available on this fare on a particular date.
MEL :: /F TG.MEL+BKK.YHOWAU
how do I do this? I always get the reply 'no flights found'.
What am I doing wrong?
Hidden city: A to C via B is cheaper than buying A to B. So you buy A to C, and exit at your point of connection B, which is your intended destination.how do i do that
In case anyone else is having a hard time finding Jetblue flights from PIT to the Caribbean with less than a 4 hour connection as Jetblue requires...the code that I'm using to search the entire month is:
B6, B6 / maxconnect 240
Slightly off topic, but b6 just announced that will stop service to PIT in about 3 months. The closest b6 airport to CLE would be BUF.Yup, very sad, though not quite accurate.
Yup, very sad, though not quite accurate.
PIT-BOS remains and will actually increase from 3x to 4x daily.
I'm trying to search for the lowest fares in a months span from NYC-FLL/MIA. How would i go about to search only for non-stops and to block spirit air, in the fare calendar?Read Dans first post on this thread you will see the correct codes. Good luck.

How I found AB flights with valid connections for this post:
http://www.dansdeals.com/archives/26854
Code:
AB, AB / maxconnect 300
Didn't know u could search for award seats on matrix. You can't. I needed help finding any dates where they had a return where you don't need to overnight in Germany. Turns out it starts in May.
Is it possible to search for a flight with a long stopover? ex nyc tlv with a stop in zrh/gva etcZRH/ minconnect 300
ZRH/ minconnect 300Thanks. I just wish their app would have all the features
=Stopover in Zurich for a minimum of 300 minutes.
Just saw something very interesting on my app I searched this trip and it came up with a very good itinerary for me and a great price but on my computer it doesn't come up.Matrix has had a lot of phantom availability on AA tickets lately
I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong if any
is there any way to use ita to search for miles tickets any code for that??No
thanks..um do you maybe know how i can search for a flight using ba miles but not on ba ?Try here (http://forums.dansdeals.com/index.php?topic=7986.0)
Matrix doesn't search X/I/O class.Even if it technically could (ie AA, LY etc), you would get an error because it wouldn't price
does anyone know if theres a code to put in class of service? i want coach on the outbound but biz on the return (rate codes wont help me)
anyone have any other ideas? Is it for a specific airline?
Is it for a specific airline?no
Not sure if this is the right place to post this...in advanced routing code type X:LHR
I try to fly to London every month, I usually buy one way tickets for outrageous prices, then I continue on to my destinations (I often decide where, while in London) after spending less than 24 hours in London.
Question, how to i use ITA to search for tickets to international locations but with long stopovers in London?
This would probably save me 1000's of $ per year.
Thanks in advance.
LHR / minconnect 1440
Searches for stops in London that last at least 1,440 minutes (i.e. 24 hours)
in advanced routing code type X:LHR
For some reason it shows retarded fares only ($1770 for economy to KBP via LHR?)
how to book specific face with specific airline
You can use "X"
So i put in by the routing code: XLASX:LAS
and then paste in all the codes of airports in the US?
I'm searching for OW LAS-NYC 10/17 and put the first ten cities in destination, and NYC in routing code, and returning no flights. What am I doing wrong? Is "non-stop" selected?
http://matrix.itasoftware.com/Were can i find the codes for the Europe airports

Not that I'm aware of.
just curious.... I'm searching for a ticket to LAS on 6/20/14.LAS is not an AA hub. Thus it's only served from a hub.
why do i only see stopovers in ORD, DFW, LAX....
im trying to use avios (oneworld alliance), does AA not fly to any other airport that connects to LAS?
OnTheFly has been updated to use a new flight search server, run on Google systems. Older versions of the app will stop functioning in the near future so be sure to update promptly.
Hi,you'll have to do two searches, one with NYC in advanced routing code and one with no advanced routing code and NYC as destination.
Sorry about this newbie question. Couldn't find the answer. Which advanced routing code do I use to have a stop either in NYC or NYC as the final destination?
I am using X:NYC but it only gives me a stopover in NYC. I want to see also the price for flights that terminate at NYC.
Thanks so much
Hmm.
Hey does any body know when using it software if there is a way to specify that from whatever airport you fly from that you should return to the same one even to fly from a different airport on the way back?I think there's a box that saids allow airport changes that you click for that.

Im looking in to RT NYC-TLVI believe you need to add destinations within x miles of where you are going and then put "x:nyc" as a routing code.
So im trying to search return cheap day so I did a one way search
But when routing to all hidden cities through NY it only gives my direct flights to NY and then on without stops in europe
How do I get it to show me flights like TLV-LHR-JFK-YYC
I believe you need to add destinations within x miles of where you are going and then put "x:nyc" as a routing code.
Sorry I dont understand
I searched one way TLV-List of 150 cities
Now what needs to be in routing code to get it check flights other than direct to NYC-150 cities
I'm looking for a RT ticket from Cincinnati to NYC from 2/14-2/16. I found on ITA multi-destenation for $139 inbound and $240 retrning but when I went on United.com and expedia the tickets were much higher. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?ITA software is
Im trying to use ITA for hidden city searches, have done it in the past without a problem using the code list in the wiki, today I am getting error messages. Anyone else having problems?happened to me alot,
Tried 100+ more times. Still getting the following message:
Sorry, there was a problem handling your request. Please send us an email and describe what happened.
can i search for a round trip and use hidden city ?yes book as multi city
USD question, yes it's an option at the bottom
can i search for a round trip and use hidden city ?
Tip: set the "sales city" to NYC rather than setting the "currency" to USD. Chances are you're gonna be buying from an American agent or website, so if you just change the currency, Matrix will show the prices as if you're buying from a TA based in the country of origin of your itinerary (which may be a different price than in the US).Is there any way set it to default to NYC/USD?
Does anyone have any experience with hidden city on AA in regard to collecting miles? If I bought, say, JFK-LAX-SJC and drop LAX-SJC, does AA usually give you the miles for the first leg?Ime yes
I am so confused with Matrix utilization. Wife and I want to go to AZ (PHX preferably) via LGB, LAX, or SNA (whichever cheapest) for 4-6 days and open from March 20 to mid-April. Since I was told that BA isn't available during this time frame (wanted to use my UR), I was going to use my 40k TYP on CitiTYP travel site concurrently with 42.5k Barclay BM for any leftover balance. Recommended?Do you want anything better than this?
Also, I copied and pasted the list of airport codes given on the airport code spots. Now, do I add all of those other ones listed by Dan in brackets under "routing codes?" Is it best to do MC, RT, or OW for my situation? Teach me the ways please. :)
Do you want anything better than this?
Mar 27 US 506 LAX 7:45AM PHX 9:17AM 1h 32m nonstop
Apr 1 UA 6523 PHX 5:30AM LAX 7:02AM 1h 32m nonstop
$138.00
I started playing with it actually. Trial and error is the best way to learn:Don't know about TYP etc... What do you get out of them?
Did LGB, LAX, SNA departure to PHX, AZA RT; 3/20 and a month later; 4-6 days; 2 adults and left everything else at default. I got:
Mar 22 US 593 SNA 6:45AM PHX 8:15AM 1h 30m nonstop
Mar 27 US 2819 PHX 7:345AM LGB 9:07AM 1h 22m nonstop
$134.00
;D
Did I do good? Is it possible to get lower?! Do you recommend that I use TYP and Barclay BM for this RT?
Don't know about TYP etc... What do you get out of them? For flights, 0.0075 pp...sucks actually. But, if Budget, Alamo, or Avis cerificates, it's 0.01 pp as long as $100 increments (and I will be needing a rental). Not a good exchange really. What do you recommend for flight and car rental? Might just use Barclays BM on the flight. Is it possible to use my 56k AA miles on US or better to just pay?
Anoyone have a list with South American airports?pick a central airport. click 'nearby' > within 2000 miles >select all > OK
Only on the return. For example, for CLE-NYC, you can use multi-city to search for CLE-NYC, followed by NYC-PIT with a "stop" in CLE.can this be done for international flights as well ?
To get the saving in both directions, you must book two separate tickets - for example, CLE-NYC-BOS, and a separate ticket for NYC-CLE-PIT.
can this be done for international flights as well ?
I found flights on ITA from CLE-TLV via EWR and back for $952 leaving 3/30/14 and coming back 4/13/14, I can't seem to find any travel website where I can actually book those prices displayed on ITA. What is the best website to book for my specific itinerary?ITA often has outdated prices. It's a function of the program they use.

can u pick up u bags on u stop or it goes to u last stop ?
I could be wrong but I believe it depends if its domestic or international. On domestic flights the bags go to the final destination. If final destination is international, the bag does not go to the last stop. If anyone has further information or if I am mistaken please let me know.the ticket is lga-mia -chs I wont to go out in mia will it work ?
the ticket is lga-mia -chs I wont to go out in mia will it work ?
My understanding in your case is that since your ticket is fully domestic the luggage goes to the final destination. You will have to ship it instead. Based upon my personal experience, USPS Priority Mail is the cheapest and fastest service.how much will it cost me to ship 2 suit case from nyc to mai about do u know ?
how much will it cost me to ship 2 suit case from nyc to mai about do u know ?
A general eBay seller rule is if it's ten pounds or more then USPS will be cheapest. And MIA definitely cheaper than HNL.can you check for me a price please ?

When i add x:nyc in the advanced routing code will it search flights with a single connection in nyc? can i have it search flights with more than 1 connection for ex, TLV > CDG > NYC > IAD (TLV as departure and IAD in list of destinations)
To search that exact routing put TLV in "Departing from", IAD in "Destination" and put CDG NYC as routing codes. It will only bring up flights with 1 connection point in NYC, would like to search with more than 1
But what exactly are you trying to do? Find a hidden city to fly TLV > NYC for cheaper?
Then put TLV in the Departing from, paste the top 100 list from the first post in this thread as the Destination, and put NYC as the routing code.
It will only bring up flights with 1 connection point in NYC, would like to search with more than 1
Do hidden city tickets work to Israel?yes, it's called fuel dumps
yes, it's called fuel dumps-1.
Hidden city ticketing and fuel dumping are two different things.
Fuel dumping sometimes looks like a hidden city but the logic of why they each work is very different
ITA keeps on telling me, "Sorry, the server was unable to process your request.try incognito
If this continues to happen, please try again later.",???

A good one to keep handy when searching for NYC-MIA, FLL, PBIOnly if you're flying directCode: [Select]~NK,F9
;D
ITA's been throwing up a lot of errors again the past few days.+1
It's really bad today.
+1Your advanced routing codes contain improper syntax
I just got this weird message. Trying to figure out where I went wrong.
The search failed with QPX Warning. Illegal faring spec: unexpected end of string

Looks like ITA Matrix 3.0 has launched.
On first glance, seems to be cosmetically different but nothing stands out in terms of functionality.
They removed the most valuable function on matrix. the surrounding airports search, its almost worthless now.
After you type in a airport the nearby button shows uponly up to 150 miles
only up to 150 milesThat sucks!!
As long as it doesn't boombox I'm OK with sacrificing that.as long as you have the list of airports in the wiki here (http://forums.dansdeals.com/index.php?topic=45539), not the biggest deal ever.

How can I code an ITA Matrix search to show maximum layover times/minconnect xxx forces a minimum connection time of xxx minutes
or a flight with a stopover continuing on, the next day?
I'd like to stopover for up to 1-2 days en route to my final destination.
Thanks.
Connect in Dallas-Fort-Worth with any additional connections before or afterI get a QPX warning for this, how is the correct way?Code: [Select][F? DFW F?]
How can I search lets say, TLV-HNL (via EWR and LAX) and force ITA to display pricing options for UA91? They only show UA 85.
It's in the wiki... I'm on tapatalk or I would copy it in.Just putting in UA91 does not do anything. It comes up no flights found.
I wanna book a one way, the connection should be in KPB for 7 days. Anyone can help me with the advanced code? Thanks! Why not do multi-city?
Does the CPM feature no longer work?I have the same question. Nobody answered this dude's question from 3 months ago.

Does the Mileage Run tool aka Cent Per Mile tool not work anymore?
Is there way to check for award availability on LAN using Avios? Are those seats a certain class?Check for the lowest award rate on lan.com
Check for the lowest award rate on lan.comThanks for responding. I followed your advice, and opened a LAN mileage account. I'm not sure if that is a accurate way to determine availability.
ITA's phantom award space is killing me. and g flights is actually worse! :(Welcome, it's been bugging me for a the past while.
excuse my ignorance, ITA shows award availability?

Don't quite understand the question.
Just unclick allow airport changes:
is there any way to do a multi-city search with 1 segment in business class & 1 segment in coachPut in the specific class/es you want.
Trying to search ywg>pty with no stops within the usa. [~l:nUS+] isnt working for me "bad routing code" (i tried searching for ywg>cun, which i know has a direct flight and got the same error). Is the [] part of your query? That would give an error.

Trying to fly EWR-SFO-YVR.Multi citi- put / aircraft t:777 in the advanced routing code for the first flight and leave the second one empty (or put N for direct flight, otherwise it'll give you a bunch of connecting flights)
I want to limit the first leg to a 777 and the second to any flight.
How can I accomplish this on ITA?
Thanks. Though that will work, I won't be able to see a month of prices at a time.True, I don't think you can do it any other way.
ITA now has two boxes, one for routing codes and one for extension (flight details) codes.
Wow. Did not expect ITA to get more updates.Especially since they plan on discontinuing the mobile app shortly

Further discussions with folks in the know tend to suggest that QPX Express going away will not kill ITA Matrix.

Weird thing is, I just ran a search and it worked. Not for me with Europe. Which airport codes?
Weird thing is, I just ran a search and it worked.Scratch that, was US to single city in Europe. Was looking at the wrong search.
This makes a difference for a place like Niagara Falls or Hungary/Ukraine/Poland, right? Anything else? This shouldn't affect HCs as this is only for the Origin, correct? If you're doing a trip to an area but are not specific on which country you go to.
Why in the world would they remove it? What's the point?
If you're doing a trip to an area but are not specific on which country you go to.Right. Why would they remove it? It's one thing to not support a product anymore and not to add to it, or otherwise further improve it, but why remove features?
Right. Why would they remove it? It's one thing to not support a product anymore and not to add to it, or otherwise further improve it, but why remove features?Could be a reduction in server bandwidth required to run complex queries.

Wouldn’t that make it show nonstop only on others?
I think it does, as it just caused my search to error out (there are no no-stops on that route). But excluding the airport took care of my issue properly.

I am wondering how to post a list of ITA codes for easy copying. I posted the list of delta airports above to benefit others, and it seems it was unappreciated the way it was posted. I have been a member since 2010, but i dont spend that much time here, so I dont know the ins and outs of posting tricks. It’s not only about how you post, it’s also what you post. A list of Delta airports isn’t neccisary, since you can just paste the list of all the airports and put only show Delta flights in the advanced routing codes.

Thank you for your quick responses! Gmar chasima toiva.
Check the route list and low fare calendar.Yes, but we still need to do it for each possible departure city and check the calendar for each possible destination for that city (unless I am doing it wrong).
Yes, but we still need to do it for each possible departure city and check the calendar for each possible destination for that city (unless I am doing it wrong). They make it pretty simple, try their destination map along with low fare calendar... as D mentioned above.
That is 8+5+10=23 searches for just the tristate area!
They make it pretty simple, try their destination map along with low fare calendar... as D mentioned above. That is what I am doing, but it takes 23 searches (each one a few screens) to check all the possibilities as stated above. What a difference compared to one search had ITA software or google flights included WN.
They don't fly out of every airport.
