Life proof is $99 however otterbox what I'm recommending ranges from $30 to $50 at the right retailer.

And i found the lifeproof for $65 here (http://www.amazon.com/LifeProof-iPhone-Case-White-Grey/dp/B005WUHAE2/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1367345208&sr=8-2&keywords=lifeproof+4s)

-1 Lifeproof is $49.99 Here (http://rumordeals.com/product/view/3) And it has a full year return policy.

*Disclaimer I am friends with the owner of this website and I highly recommend buying from him. Good prices (apparently beats $99) and supporting a frum guy :)

So you can buy a INCIPIO INSCRIBE EXECUTIVE STYLUS & PEN for $10 and receive free shipping. Plus the case is still cheaper than Amazon!

Are we really arguing whether something that costs less money is a better deal?

So I'm still confused about what to get. I want a soft feel (silicone) so that cancels the otterbox but I do not want the lifeproof.  I don't like the ribzz case cuz it doesn't protect the screen. (Water resistant is also good but not a must) but shock proof is necessary.  Tia for the advice

Thanks for the suggestion. I see a bunch on there. They all have a few bad reviews even if most are positive, but so does the mophie. So, I guess I might as well take the chance and save $30-40.

The ones that come up just when searching aren't the ones. Search for articles with top iPhone 5 battery cases, do some research and then search Amazon. Obviously if you're putting it on an Amex you should be ok either way but...

Update: This review  (http://thewirecutter.com/reviews/best-iphone-5-battery-case/)was the most recent battery case review I could find (March 2014). They say the top case is this one (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0099SG2WE?tag=thewire06-20&linkCode=as2), which is not only cheaper than the Mophie, but their tests actually showed it to be better than the Mophie.
Here's to hoping.

Which iPhone? the iPhone 12 is pretty durable in its own right so you donít need anything too crazy. Look into the Speck Presidio (or Presidio grip), it also comes in styles with designs that might be DW-friendly (designs vary by model).

Also check out Otterbox Commuter and Symmetry series.

Lastly, Lifeproof Frē cases are a bit clunkier, but offer solid protection.

Those are the pricier brand name options, not sure which of the cheaper ones are of equal quality. Also, none of those have a screen protector but you should be able to use the case with one you buy separately.

Do your kids ever touch/throw the phone? Do you see it dropping on concrete on any sort of regular basis? Then you need a clunky case.

Another option is to shell out money for AppleCare+ (I believe itís $150 for two years) and you get two screen replacements a year for $29/incident (or other physical damage repair for $99/incident).

My Amazon order history has 8 screen replacements, 5 of them since January 2020. But I did just check and one of them was for a different phone, so it was 4 over the year.

I think my best option is to send her into Target or Walmart and tell her to get herself a case. I'll tell her that she could spend as much as she wants, which seems to translate in DW talk as "buy the most expensive one they sell." Hopefully, she'll buy one that will be really protective and not a Gucci piece of non-protective fashion.

If I think it's not strong enough, I'll sign up for AppleCare+.

I could also buy chicken soup, and then I'd also get a nice, warm sensation in my throat.
But with the phone you may also get a shout out at a yankee game.

Rip off. Better looking, but not as durable and likely more expensive than some of the other options I mentioned.
:(

I'm assuming Apple brand replacements will stand up better than the off-brand ones that I bought on Amazon.

But now's the question: What does it entail to get the $29 screen replacement? Can it be done on-the-spot in an Apple store? Or does it require sending in the phone? How long is the turnover rate?

Any insight is appreciated.

Appointment at Apple's Genius Bar, replacement on the spot assuming the housing isn't and they can install a replacement screen in to fit perfectly (they had to replace my device when the housing was bent - not visible to me - and they couldn't install the replacement screen).

Appointments are probably harder to get with COVID and the COVID safety protocols at Apple store are onerous...

So she went to Target and got an Apple brand silicone case.

Should I enroll in AppleCare+?
Did you look into getting a tempered glass screen protector?

I Donít know to much about them, but I have heard they can really save the screen.

I just got an IPhone 11 and bought a pack of 3 for $3. (I was considering getting a more expensive one, I donít know how much the $1 ones actually protect :-\)

I always keep tempered glass screen protectors on, and they do help to some extent, but they're not magic.

Here's what ended up happening (so far):

As mentioned earlier, she bought the Apple case. I signed up for AppleCare+ for repairs (not for losses). I went on Amazon and I ordered the highest rated tempered glass screen protectors.

I already had to change the tempered glass twice  :-[

Speck.

Decent balance between bulk and function. Doesn't last as long as I'd like to.

Never used a screen protector.
