If you also need phone go for the triple play even if you don't want tv cause it's cheaper than just the two.

That's not always true and  there could be only one cable per area so optimum and twc cannot service the same area

Go with Clear, my experience the first month they will charge full $50 & then after 1st month ask for a discount & they give you either next 3 months for $20 or next 6 months for $25. This has been my experience over the past year 2. Hatzlacha.

kvend, what has been your experience w clear in terms of quality? any issues?
why do you think they would not offer incentives to newcomers?
I would imagine thats best time to get them!

They are very solid. Always fast & I have no problem with download speeds either.

I checked from your link & it said that the download speed was 12.59 & the upload was 0.92.
I don't know if this is considered good or bad, but it works for me.
Hatzlacha.

I'm using TWC $30/month. 10down 1up. This was the cheapest decent option I found abt a year ago.

Go with Clear, my experience the first month they will charge full $50 & then after 1st month ask for a discount & they give you either next 3 months for $20 or next 6 months for $25. This has been my experience over the past year 2. Hatzlacha.

Live in queens and did try clear as an option. Didn't find it as fast and reliable as I wanted.

Why wait and pay $50! I contacted them during my 14 day free trial and they gave me those discount options.

How did you get Optimum with Boost for 30? Some sort of promotion? I have Boost and TV with free DVR and box for 65..

Retention

My deal with retention was the aforementioned Boost and TV with free DVR and box for 65. I love calling Cablevision to negotiate, they are always willing to play ball. The magic words are usually "Direct TV".

So you just threatened to cancel the Internet? IME, once you don't have a package with them, they are not as willing to negotiate.

If optimum still has the 29.95 for new costumers it's prolly the best bangage for your buckage.
