Title: Shoes
Post by: Ergel on September 09, 2012, 09:47:45 AM
I have two pairs of shoes, one shabbos, one weekday. I have been buying the same pair over and over again. Easiest way to shop, when they get worn out I just buy them again from the cheapest online store (usually shoe buy with their coupon codes).
My weekday shoe is http://www.shoebuy.com/dockers-proposal/130762/302377
Comes out to$ 40 after discount.
Anyone have any other shoe which they love in a similar or slightly more expensive price range? I may be looking for a change, if it's worth my while. Must be a slip on and very comfortable.

Have great Ted Baker (bought @ LHR when flight was at Last Call)

I never buy the same pair twice, I'm always mad that they fell apart so fast.

Sinds two years ago I only buy Lloyd shoes, they've lasted me longer then any other shoes I ever wore (more than a year in jerusalem, summer and wet winter) and are still in very good condition.

:o :o You mean you waste the 50k on GC and not on SW flights?
Wouldn't you be getting sooo much more value out of the points if you used them for travel (instead of 1 cpp with GC's)?

which style is a bad q. let me explain every year or two they change it and first they stop selling it on their own website and bout year later you wont find it in stores so its a little annoying about every two three new shoes i have to pick a new style all over again..
But if thats the only prob. with ecco ill still take ecco any day ;D

Am I the only one here who's a fan of Rockport?  They make very comfortable footwear, though they probably don't last as long as Ecco (at least according to how long people here are saying they are -allegedly- supposed to last for).

I'd love to talk about Ecco, but the price really does repel me :(.

Does that apply to/Do you have experience with the shoes below?  Are they really comfortable?(My feet need a lot of cushion, especially in the ball-of-the-foot are, most shoes (to me) seem to feel like walking on a plank of wood, Rockport's usually seem to be one of those exceptions. Looking at a pair of ECCOs that is 150 on amazon and seems to be 170 everywhere else including Nordstrom Rack. Shoes.com has them on sale so today would be 25% off but try don't have my size.

Does NR have a big sale coming up soon?
(Some of their ECCOs are 20-30% off, but not the ones I want)

Or any other ideas where I might get lucky?

I've been wearing Ecco shoes for the past 7 years. I don't like the chunky look they have and I am looking for classier shoes that will last long as well. Is Mezlan a good place to start?

Beware that Ecco is one of the most comfortable brands out there. Almost any other brand will be a significant downgrade in terms of comfort. I've had Mezlans and their strength is in style and craftsmanship, not comfort. Durability is another strength of Eccos that is lacking in Mezlans.

I don't mind the Comfortability that much, I just need something that will last and looks classy.

Is there something cool about getting ripped off?

In the Lakewood one I go only for shoes when I buy 2 pairs, because I get 2 pairs of Ecco for $240 which is pretty decent.

How?

Bought 3 pair to try sizes on amazon.com during NAS using the 20% off coupon. Returned them all as none fit but asked for use of the coupon back. Was given $140 CASH! Felt guilty not buying a pair that fit so I tried a 4th size which fits great.

YMMV but I doubt they do this often

I just bought the Ecco Classic Moc (http://www.amazon.com/ECCO-571004-Classic-Moccasin-Coffee/dp/B0052CQJGU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1384893848&sr=8-1&keywords=ecco+classic+moc) on Amazon for $97.99. I'm not sure how earth-shattering that is (or isn't), but being that Nordstrom has these for ~$150 - and not to mention that the Shoes.com post on the main page has them listed for $105 AFTER the discount, plus most sizes are sold out on Shoes.com - so I figured it may be worth mentioning here.

More importantly let's try helping you find a shoe that works! There are some good websites that have shoes for different issues or run in wide widths. I'd even recommend going to an old school shoe place (like Globe shoes on 17 in Paramus for example) and find out the brands that really work for you.

I've had some luck with Ecco, but styles change and cant always find the same shoe.

Any places that let you return slightly worn shoes? Nordstrom still does that?
