Any help on a Marriot in Fort Lauderdale or Miami Beach category 1-4 (my free night)? Going to Miami Beach first week in March. Have a place from Monday night and on. Need for Sunday night. Can be either Fort Lauderdale or near Miami Beach. Want near food and davening. Would love early checkin and checkout. I'm a silver elite member, if it means anything. Any ideas?

Keep in mind that it's usually a pretty full night when no award space is available. They have little incentive to accommodate.

In the end I just reserved the next level room, at a cost of about $75 for the upgrade ( which is a joke, bec. the only diff. bet. them is a few feet ).
When I got to the hotel, I asked if there were any standard rooms available, and they said there was one room left, which they have to us, and saved my money.

It has worked for me the other way where a platinum member booked it for me and I got their benefits. I once tried it the other way around and they told me benefits apply to the booking member only. Not sure if this is property specific or all around policy.

The fifth night is available. To book a new res now of all five nights is not. The same way they consider it all one stay (regarding stays & promos…) because it's consecutive nights in one hotel I should also get the fifth night free.

I want to use it on a resort that is family friendly, preferably on the Eastern half of North America. Any way to be able to redeem this for a suite, as I'd be traveling with 3 small kids.

I just received an email from Marriott "Congratulations. You stayed 50 eligible nights this year. Now you can select your 2018 Annual Choice Benefit from these options"
there are only 2 options that interest me the "FIVE ELITE NIGHT CREDIT (Add five Elite Night Credits to your 2018 total)",   and the "FIVE SUITE NIGHT AWARDS. (Receive five Suite Night Awards™ that you can redeem for upgrades to suites and premium rooms)" whats my best pick? and AFAIK the 5 night credit is on 2018 how is that helpful to anyone?

How do people calculate value ofpoints these days?
Do you decide the required amount in half and then divide room charge by point?
Ex: room is 30k points or $200 cash is it 200/30k or 200/17.5k since they offer a 1:2 ratio ?

What cpp do you aim for ?

Or try https://www.marriott.com/hotels/hotelFactSheet.mi?marshaCode=

Followed by the hotels code which can be found after Marriott.com on the hotels main home web page.

Friend visited for kfwe, aloft in Aventura had good rates.

Was cheaper on Agoda which is fine because I got the Marriott chase spend and stay points although The best rate guaranteevis b

I did not save exact screenshots :(

With Agoda it was $121 a night includes taxes, Marriott was $119 a night after taxes .

On Friday we decided to stay Shabbat, Marriott said nothing available, lies, there were rooms on their site. Well, they said.. it's a higher rate.. indeed, so the cheapest we found was $161 on hotel.com

I'm really annoyed but it's Marriott, worse I didn't get chase card. Spend.

Do I have any recourse here

I am willing to pay or use additional points.  the difference in paid rate between king and queen room is only $60 a night. Both Mariott and the hotel are saying the only thing i can do is cancel the points booking and book the paid rate which is almost $1500 a night. Any other way to get the upgrade now.

I had a similar situation and neither Marriott or the front desk were able to help me. I left my point booking and did a cash reservation as well. I checked daily and whenever the rate went down I booked and cancelled the old reservation. -(My particular hotel tended to be cheaper towards the end of the week). In the end I paid about $260 (for a room that was originally over $500) so I cancelled the points booking for a standard room and went with the cash option for the premium room I had wanted. I don't know how much time you have or if the room you want will go down in price substantially enough. You're only alternative would be to keep your point booking and when you check in, ask for a queen room instead. You can book a queen room and cancel so that it is held available until at least 48 hrs  prior to your arrival, however there is no guarantee that it will still be available. I guess it all depends on how badly you need the queen room.

Status/certificate question.
My spouse has Silver status and a 35K certificate in her Marriott account. I have Gold status. If she books a room with the certificate and we both stay, is it possible for us to receive my higher level benefits during the stay?

Is there a way to get them to switch credit cards after charged?

Booked room online with my credit card that has all the offers, upon checkin person gave their card (no offers) and told them to bill credit card on file (that was used to book room and on account) sure enough they charged their card. Front desk states they can't do anything...any way to get Marriott to switch cards?
