Title: Idea's Please
Post by: Smirk on July 01, 2008, 09:29:18 AM
Anyone have any idea's on how a website that brings a seller and buyer together, can regulate the transaction so that the two parties dont go under the table and screw the site?
Bear in mind its something that no buyer will buy unless he speaks to and probably will want to see the item.

p.s. i know it's a bit vague but i cant say specifics

The site could either charge a membership fee to use the site or charge a fee to show the contact info of the two parties. Other than that, if somebody is determined to go under the table there's not much the site can do to stop it.

you would have to verify the persons info through ss or some other way.   and in the case were the buyer gets screwed the web site would be responsable

thats the first thing that came to my head too but its a new site that people might say i dont know if this will work so screw it, thats why i want something for afterwards, the more "things" you make them do to get the item on the less of a conversion rate you'll get

That was another consideration to make some sort of guarentee, and they'll pay for that, but it wouldnt work for me because it's expensive items and if something goes wrong ill be at too much risk
