Maybe s/o could help me:I heard Chatzos, but not 100% sure.
I looked around and could not find exactly when one is allowed to shave tomorrow (before or after chatzos). All i found is that if Lag B'omer falls out on Sunday, then one could shave on Friday.
Anyone?

This is even according to the Sefardim (Bais Dovid 208). Lag B’omer falls out on Sunday in the following years (5771, 73, 74, 77, 84, 88, 91, 94, 95, 97, 98). Some say to take the haircut on Friday after chatzos if possible, although taking it before chatzos is also permitted (Halichos Shlomo Moadim 2: page 364: footnote 79).

Yes.That's what I'm thinking, keeping until Shavuos and then reevaluating.
Or at the very least do not remove it on the yahrzeit of the author the Zohar when al pi kabalah the beard is such a precious thing.
Maybe keep it until Shavuos and then re-evaluate.

Once a Lag B'Omer celebration was being held in Jerusalem. Several yeshivah students from overseas joined the gathering. They had grown beards during the Counting of the Omer, but had removed them on Lag B'Omer. The Gaon, Rabbi Yeshaya Osher Zelig Margolis of Jerusalem, told them: "Throughout the days of the Omer, you restrained yourselves from removing your beards. Today, on the day of Rabbi Shimon's celebration, you too are joining in the rejoicing. But how are you are marking his holy day? By trampling on his words. This recalls the words of the Megilah: 'Would you assault the queen while I'm at home?!'" My words bore fruit and the students resolved never to touch their beards.
Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai taught (Zohar, Vol. III, p. 130b): "Woe to those who extend their hands against the precious, sublime beard."
The Chafetz Chayim writes: "Removing one's beard (even with scissors) brings about destruction and blemishes [in the spiritual worlds] Above and removes the image of G-d [Tzelem Elokim] from one's face. By doing so, one uproots the channels of holiness from Above... as explained in the holy Zohar and the works of the Kabbalists.... Accordingly, any person with a sensitive heart should be in dread of this severe and bitter sin. If he transgressed, he should hurry to repent and should not pay attention to his foolish friends whose evil inclinations have overpowered their minds" (The Chofetz Chaim in his Kuntres Tiferes Adam, Introduction, sec. 1; ch. 10).
That's one view.ah That was you the guy with the beard, I thought I saw you. 😉
The Chasam Sofer (Orach Chaim 159 ???) brings that the Rama Mipanu did not grow a beard (In Chu"l) al pi kabalah. And the Ramcha"l also (allegedly) did not have a beard.
(Disclaimer: I do have a beard)
The great Kabalasist, R Moshe chaim lutzatto (mesilas yesharim), famously was clean shaven in chutz learets.Someone PCMIIW, but perhaps that explains why his works don't seem to be quoted much (if at all) in chassidic works (i.e. among the myriad of sifrei kabbalah that are quoted).

In honor of the Rashbi's anniversary, try not shaving this year. What's wrong with shaving using a halachically permissible shaver/trimmer?

Are you new here?I guess so - why do you ask?
What's wrong with shaving using a halachically permissible shaver/trimmer?Nothing, but even if you hold its mutar to shave, its a chumra nit to shave. So Reb Dan is suggesting that people take on this chumra.
Nothing, but even if you hold its mutar to shave, its a chumra nit to shave.I don't think anyone holds it is assur according to Halacha to shave with a trimmer.

It’s no different then if one holds Shabbos ends 50 min after shkia and decide to wait till 72. Nice thing to do but nothing wrong if you don’t
Nothing, but even if you hold its mutar to shave, its a chumra nit to shave. So Reb Dan is suggesting that people take on this chumra.Even just not shaving on the Rashbi's yahrtzeit, is certainly praiseworthy. I always found it ironic that the day is associated with shaving.

the Tzemach Tzedek holds it is assur to cut trim or otherwise remove any hair from your faceI was referring to the Isur DeOraysa statement. I believe that's only with shaving. I don't see how trimming down a beard (and leaving short hairs) can be Lo Yilbash. But I haven't read the Teshuva in a long time.
