there are far more popular blogs in the goyishe velt,
Although none of them do give as good advice :)
The biggest פלא to me is that the cc companies invite the bloggers to have lunch with them and encourage them to keep on giving advice how everyone can best sign up (read: abuse them).

We are all a very very small percentage of consumers, just this shabbos I shmoozed with someone, his whole extensive family for over twenty years have been doing all their spending on a debit card...
99% are clueless about maximizing rewards and bonuses, they just dont think in that direction. The CC companies are fine.

It's one thing to not know about churning but it's another to not know about the concept of reward cards and racking up points or miles or what not.

This letter is such a load of bull, the deals here are at worst טעות עכו"ם, and there's no harm in taking out the benefit of a deal that's out there. And what ticked me off the most is his 'haskafa' argument, hashkafa is a magic word used whenever you can't bring any halachic source to prohibit something, it's a totally new concept that's being abused by many.

I don't want to get kicked into the is it ethical thread but don't be so sure of yourself.  IIRC that is only when he makes the mistake on his own, not when you encourage him to make the mistake.  Not to mention the cases where people do things which are much worse.

That is where the discussion belongs. Most of the things discussed on forums like this have an ethical aspect to them. That is why there is an ethical thread so every thread does not get lost in that discussion. I have said it once and I will say it again. Ethics and deals do not mix.

They do mix, in the same way that water and dirt mix, it gets very muddled and messy :)

the problem is that this is a Halacha discussion and you also say that Halacha and ethics don't mix.  Maybe we need is it halachik thread?

Why embarrassed? Frum literature is so bad, the only stuff worth reading is whatever is so bad it's funny.

it's davka showing that they all have the same hairstyle, same sunglasses on top of their heads, same clothes, same shoes, because they are also focused on the 'chitzonius', and they care what their friends think of their style.

Oh. Then that's actually funny.

But why beatniks? Is that a style right now?

Not sure where to find the article right now, but a while back there was a fiction story in Mishpacha/Family First/Bina where 2 girls were competing at who could fail more spectacularly.  One girl attached coupons to her shidduch resume, and her friend comments something along the lines of, "More likely you'll end up on DansDeals."
