I have a snapshot of screen of free photo book code for anyone who wants to chat Shutterfly to get a credit if the link was not working for them. I chatted them and they credited me for the book with Expiration of May 6. PSA If you would like to use the code to make multiple books like i did, use a different credit card, not only a different account. When i entered same CC on diff account it told me code has already been used, so i had to share that book to a third account order it from there with a different CC. You referred to the book as "stunningly awesome". I got my first 2 as 8x8s from the free MyCokeRewards deal (Part 1 and Part 2 of our honeymoon :) ) and now I want to try the 8x11, but I can't exactly say they were "stunningly awesome". Although it's fun and looks great, the picture were a little bit grainy - whether it was iPhone pics or DSLR pics. Do you opt for glossy pages (maybe that helps make them clearer)?

We're not so into picture quality and stuff (as the iPhone is the only camera we have) since iPhone pictures viewed on an iPhone or desktop look very clear to us. I imagined that printed pics that are not incredibly blown up, would also look good. It's funny bc the one or 2 pages where I did 1 full picture almost look clearer than the pages with several smaller pics.

Actually, quite possibly not:
- Unlike a picture, which is usually printed at 300dpi, a canvas looks good even at 100dpi. Most grain simply won't print.
- The canvas texture itself lends fine detail a somewhat scratchy look, so grain would be even more masked.
- Finally, the normal viewing distance of a canvas is greater than that of a book, so fine grain will simply not be noticeable under normal conditions.

Well mostly the weeding through 50 similar shots to get to the one good one (x 7,000), but that's not really Shutterfly's fault. On their end it's more the lack of flexibility in the platform. Even using the custom path I find that resizing, or fitting pictures into their arrangements is cumbersome and requires too many steps. Perhaps I'm overlooking something, but shouldn't a platform devoted to pictures allow you to switch the aspect ratio and/or zoom out in edit mode??

Click on any picture and it'll bring up a zoom/rotate/edit window. Easy peasy.
You could also click "customize" on the lower left and then rearrange and resize to your hearts content.

That's what I was doing... Or at least what I thought I was doing. I couldn't get it to include the full picture when I was loading pictures into the prearranged layouts. It was arbitrarily cropping the images and would let me adjust, but not zoom out entirely. I Just tried it again and dragged the pictures directly into the page, instead of using layouts. Now to hope these end up somewhat symmetrical...

That happens when the aspect ratio of your picture is different than the aspect ratio or the spot you want to put it in. For example, if you want to put a regular picture into a square spot. If it lets you zoom out all the way, it'll be a rectangle instead of a square. What you should do in this situation is click customize and drag the sides of the square outward until it matches the shape of your picture.

Flat pages are incredible. A friend of mine splurged and showed it to me, and I'm now redoing all my book to be flat.true story, did it on my last one and its aweosome. although i got the upgrade free since my proj got messeed up and took a few days to fix

I've been trying to find a service that allows me to make a postcard invitation and give the company the addresses to send out to each person instead of them sending me postcards and me sending them out. I've checked shutterfly, snapfish and a few others. Either I'm missing the option or they really don't offer it. Does anyone know of a company that does this?

I haven't had any luck finding one.
I assume you want to order one print or something to trigger the code? I just did a test with one print and local pickup ($0.29), but payment is due at the store so I'm not sure that Visa Checkout was properly triggered. So far I haven't gotten a code, but it's only been two minutes or so.

expires when?Here are 3 codes expiring 3/31/16. Not sure why people want codes as you can get an unlimited amount of them yourself. Exaple: if your email is brooklyn12@gmail.Com you can get so many codes by typing in different email addresses: b.rooklyn12@gmail.com, br.ooklyn12@gmail.com, Brooklyn.12@gmail.com, etc...

The biggest problem I ran into is that the new uploader will randomly decide that certain pictures are "duplicate" and will refuse to upload them. Not only that, but there is no way of "updating" a folder; to add missing pictures you need to comb through your own folder and manually compare it to Shutterfly's to find the missing files.
The internet is packed with people complaining, but for now there seems to be a backdoor fix. If you have any upload issues (I'm currently having the duplicate and "file size is too large" errors), create a share site and upload your pictures to that. The share site uploader will actually upload all your files like a normal human being, and you can than use these pictures on the regular site as usual.
ETA: Added to the wiki.

Depends on the language and characters. Hebrew doesn't work, if that's what you're asking about. Copy the text into plain text (Notepad works great), and then copy again and paste into the photobook. You'll see if it works or not.

Using the software is pretty easy
My main problems
1. If I want to stretch a photo field
Or rearrange the layout manually the alignment tools stink and aren’t 100% accurate which would result in a photo book that has photos overlapping or not lined up perfectly!!!
2. If I want to lighten or darken a image to match the surrounding photos there are no tools.

I have never done a photo book and want to now with the current unlimited pages + 40% off. I have about 450 pictures. How does the 111 page maximum work. Is it 111 sides (so 55 pages) or 111 pages (so 222 sides). How many pics can fit on a page and still be good (I usually print 4 x 6).
If you want all 450 just do regular prints. The idea of a book IMO is to tell a story, not to carpet bomb the viewer.

111 sides, 55 pages. For the 8.5x11 book you can put 4 per side at 4x5.75, or keep the full picture and go a bit smaller. Check out the 4-up page templates, there a few different options there.

Shutterfly used to have a way to import photos from Flickr, but I no longer see that option. Is there a better way for me to get my photos from Flickr to Shutterfly than downloading them from Flickr and uploading them to Shutterfly?For a while, I was able to use Shutterfly's "ShareSites" to pull pictures (by album) from Flickr and could then import them from the ShareSite to my photobook project, but that appears to be dead now as well.

I have a code I got from Pampers Rewards, when I try to enter it I get "Thanks. Please click "Manage promos" at checkout to apply this promo to your order.".For starters, it's not stackable. For instance, the free 8x8 doesn't stack with the free shipping.

For 4x6 prints, what is the best quality in your experiences? Online reviews seem to indicate Snapfish has the best
Got some free prints from Snapfish but not very satisfied with the clarity or resolution, a lot of them were pictures of nature. Is shutterfly any better or should I try costco or something?

In the past when I've had free 8x8 book codes, it just took $17.99 off the price of my total book (since I order the 8x11). Does anyone have any experience with these Groupons? Do they work the same way, meaning can I add these to my account and the have them reduce the cost of my 8x11 book by $17.99?I just found out the hard way (by trying) that Groupons won't work the same way as the free 8x8 books which just lower the price by $17.99. They only work on 8x8 books.
