Title: JetBlue offering free Mosaic status match challange
Post by: urifin on March 18, 2014, 12:28:02 PM
JetBlue is offering a free status (Mosaic) for their frequent flyers!

If you are a non-mosaic member, you have 90 days to spend $1250, and you’ll get it through the end of 2015!

JetBlue also offers a free match through  the end of 2014 for top-tier Frequent Flyers (Gold or higher) for other carriers in the U.S.

Promotion ends 4/18.

What does Jet Blue status get you?
Title: Re: JetBlue offering FREE Mosaic status for 90 days or more!
Post by: urifin on March 18, 2014, 12:35:19 PM
From their site:

1. JetBlue change and cancellation fees will be waived for Mosaic members and others on their itinerary
2. Earn 15,000 bonus points immediately upon qualifying for Mosaic. (probably not w/ this promo)
3. Even More® Space: Stretch out and relax by redeeming your points for an Even More Space seat.
4. Even More® Speed: Cut down on the time it takes to get to your gate with complimentary access to an expedited security line.
5. Early boarding: Be among the first to board and get early access to overhead bin space.
6. Bonus points: Earn an additional 3 TrueBlue points per dollar on your JetBlue flight, for a total of up to 9 points per dollar if you book on jetblue.com.2
7. 1st and 2nd bag free: Now when you fly, you and others on your itinerary can check both the first and second bags for free.

JetBlue is already the best u.s. airline in my opinion so it's a great chance to make it even better

I dont believe so.

Travelers showing valid enrollment and status with an eligible loyalty program will qualify for TrueBlue Mosaic status for the remainder of 2014; other participants must complete the Challenge in order to enjoy Mosaic status for the remainder of 2014; all participants must complete the Challenge in order to enjoy Mosaic status for 2015 (1/1/15 - 12/31/15).

I got a similar email... altho I have to earn 3750 miles in 90 days....

Are you a JetBlue customer who enjoys a certain, shall we say, status? Now until April 18, 2014, TrueBlue members can sign up for the Mosaic Challenge, where you can earn Mosaic membership fast – 90 days to be exact. Earn 3,750 base flight TrueBlue points during your Challenge period to qualify for Mosaic through December 31, 2015.*

Do you also belong to another airline loyalty program that—let’s be honest here—may not be living up to your high-flying standards? You’re in luck. For those members with specified status in certain programs —we’ll automatically give you Mosaic for the rest of 2014 when you’re enrolled in the Mosaic Challenge, and if you complete the Challenge, stay leveled up through 2015.*

So my (married) daughter can sign up.
Buy 2 tickets for Pesach trip to parents.  Travel.
Buy 3 tickets  (baby will be over 2 by then) for random dates in the summer.  Get Mosaic status.
"1. JetBlue change and cancellation fees will be waived for Mosaic members and others on their itinerary."
So she can change the tickets to dates she really wants when it's closer to summer.

Would this work?

No.

"You must enter your TrueBlue number at the time of booking a JetBlue flight in order to earn TrueBlue points towards the Challenge. "
So the $1250 has to be spent on the TrueBlue traveler accepting the 'challenge'.  Other tickets on the itinerary won't get credited toward the challenge amount.

Their site seems to imply that if you email them proof of status before 4/18/14 you'll get matched until 12/31/14. does that mean that you can't be matched after 4/18 or that if you match afterwards you'll get it for longer?

I'm possibly considering meeting the mosaic challenge requirements, but have $1100 to go by the end of September. Would anyone theoretically be interested in $1100 in B6 flights (out of mosaic account, so EMS seats if not Mint flight and free drinks/bags ect) for maybe $500ish? Obviously, anyone taking up such an offer would have to know what it entails and how to navigate it.

Hello Daniel,

We regret that you were not able to maintain your Mosaic status for 2017.

Because your status will expire after tomorrow, all future changes and cancellations would incur a

Thank you for your loyalty. We hope to welcome you onboard again soon.

My Mosaic expired 01/31. I'm seeing, however, that my previously booked flights are still showing the 2 free bags per passenger.
Not gonna show by check-in.

Confirmed, free 2 bags included if booked when status was Mosaic.

did not work for me today.

ETA: I could be wrong because I did not try and do 2 anyways. But it did say only 1 free, I don't know what would have happened if I actually tried more.

You can only earn Mosaic by flying or by spending 50k on the Barclay credit card.

Hey, so if I spend the 50k will I automatically have Mosaic status, or do I need to call in and have them situate it? And does the status remain until the end of the year, or do I get a fresh 12 months?

Mosh
