That is in the vicinity of the previous place, but I got lost, and as there was a crack, I couldn't really make a shortcut but needed to climb down first...

Its a 2 hours walk up if keeping up quite a pace. The hard part is that its pretty steep and stairs like with barely a flat part to ease on the legs.

Saw this in Suave's thread too. Is that the region of קפוטקיא mentioned in Gemarah?

It is really nice. Turkish people speak Turkish.

Just say 'tamam' which means 'okay' or pick up your head from the regular position to a little upward, while lifting the palm of your hand, which means 'no', and you will be fine.

Wow, great pics. You have some of my bucket list items on here like Kosovo and that cliff in Norway, gotta get to them fjords one day.

In SF's defense as to why there are so few pics, a real traveler in general has less pics, it's the journey not the destination. I speak for myself here, but most amazing moments happen on the road not at the destination, and when it happens you live it because it might be the last time you experience that particular moment or sight. Ain't nobody got time for cameras or phones when the moment is running away

The wow factor ski wise, is the sheer length of it which is possible to ski in one shot down.

Skiing is possible from 2750m till 900m (9022ft till 2952ft)

Almost free.

But most guys here aren't made for that.

They want their park Hyatt, etc
Ahem, although I did find out that there's a kempiniski there.

There is indeed one, right on the slopes.
The only reason for staying there in aftermath (i didn't stay there), was that they could opt in for a VIP pass to skip the lines.

It was one of the best road trips of my life, I took a 250CC bike strong enough to hold my friend and I for a long journey. We set out early, found some lost israelies and had them follow us back to civilization. We stopped at the Tarsier place then set off to chocolate hills, only problem is the bridge was closed so we had to take a 4 hour detour through the fields and mountains. Google maps was off by a few KM so we ended up literally driving through mud fields which added time. I made up for it by speeding like a mad man through the hills, we made it to chocolate hills as the sun was setting. I got a flat about 5 minutes from lookout point, it just so happened to be (behashgacha pratis of course) that there was a vulcanizer (tire repair) on the side of the road right there (first and last one we saw on our entire 16 hour ride excluding departure/arrival cities). I stayed to fix and paid a kid to take my friend to the lookout with his bike. The drive back (at night) was AMAZING, rainstorms hit us every 30 minutes or so, so we would stop by a roadside kiosk to seek shelter, we met so many cool locals this way. We passed through a rainforest which had a magical feel to it with the rain and wild animal noises, waterfalls etc. We ended up getting home at 3am. A ride I will never forget IYH.

I can't help but wonder if it was strictly hashgacha pratis that you happened to get a flat right by the tire repair place, or perhaps something more nefarious was at play...

Yup, in Istanbul, I was in a call-shop (a place you go to call international for cheap) and the guy tried to charge $20/min, so basically 1000x the advertised price.
He was arguing about the 000 which would often not be written as the money had a very little value back then (I paid $125 or 88,000,000 for an IST-TLV a week later).
I wasn't about to let go, so I said I'm going to the cops. This guy came along and was screaming his head off, and everyone in the street joined the parade. I was sure we would be lynched by the mob.
Somehow, I wasn't in the giving up mode, and as I've later realized by the cops (who said I was right), that this mob was actually supportive of me, as this shop owner was Kurdish, so they were excited someone didn't put up with his business practices.

Alright, so I'm looking for people who could decide ultra fast, that want to climb a high high peak in the northern part of Latin America.
Travel data would be approx 23 Dec for a duration of 1.5 week.
No need to be overly fit, but must have a drive to continue.
A week is to get used to the altitude (while visiting stuff).
Main cost is getting there, once there cost are minimal.
Don't want to splash too much info here, but if someone is interested, then by all means.
Speed of decision is of the essence

To get used to the altitude it doesn't help to land higher.
You still need to go through the same process.
Going up to flights of stairs in the hotel felt like going up from floor 15 to 17.

Yeah I have experience with altitude...

I had a few friends who went to help the Shliach in Cusco. They told me that for the first few days he didn't let them lift a finger in the Chabad House. They felt really bad because after all they came to help but he told them it's not worth it for him. If they would help even with light things before they fully acclimatized they would be out of commission for the rest of their stay..

I'm a very bad example in the sense that 2 days preparation in terms of research, is a lot by me.

To do it properly you want to read guides such as lonely planet, go over frommers, etc

On at least one trip the 3,400m tunnel listed above.

On (another?) trip I drove the trail ridge road in Rocky Mountain Natl Park with a maximum elevation of 3,700m. I did do some stopping and walking around then, but that was on a fast day so if I felt anything I would've attributed it to the fast...

Approx from 3300 m and above doing anything harder than a slow short walk, should have given you a out of breath / tired feeling.
Maybe you though that you have energy due to the fast.

Depends for who. Some people handle up to 3,700-3,800 without a problem while when I took my pregnant wife to Yellowstone (average elevation 2,400m) she could barely get out of the car...

Yep, and not only for the fact that it's high, but it's actually the highest point on the U.S. Interstate Highway system.
But the reason you didn't notice it, is either cuz you simply do not feel it (if you're not pregnant, or sick) when the only thing you do is pressing a gas pedal...
Or - the more likely scenario - that you were blown away by the breathtaking engineering that the I-70 has to offer, that you simply didn't realize the sudden drop in oxygen

If you don't do any efforts, this attitude shouldn't pose problems.
Go for a 200m jog, or carry 3 suitcases into a car, and you suddenly feel knocked out.

Also above 17,000 ft / 5200 m.
Those kids live and play where others barely breath.
I gave them a little ride, and they loved it.
This is the highest altitude people live on regular basis.
Higher than that the body slowly disintegrates.

I wasn't alone in the car.
The only one that had any idea how to take pictures was me, so a tripod would have saved me lots of energy...

I wasn't in the the Altneushul yet, however many rabbis changed location during their lifetime. I had no idea frankly.

The Maharal was the rov of the Altneuschul shul. As well as the Noda Beyehuda. If you would like to suggest otherwise, please provide some backing.

Yes, thanks.
An hour before heading there I checked the forecast (hourly). Supposedly no rain whatsoever for 24h. It didn't stop for a second.
Someone told me that in the UK it rains always so they would only write when it doesn't rain....
