Does packaged food (chips, cake, etc) count?
I would think not. I would imagine you can find Lays, Ruffles etc. in any airport...

Should OU vs. OU-D be categorized?  :)

Terminal 3 at Pearson Airport in Toronto yesterday. Grodzinskiís, a COR supervised bakery in Toronto, is supplying sandwiches with roast beef, pastrami, brisket, cream cheese, and tuna options. There is also a choice of tuna, or roasted vegetable and hummus wraps. Additionally, you can find kosher danish pastries, muffins, granola & yogurt parfaits, and more all provided by Grodzinskiís.

According to the bakeryís website, their sandwiches are also available at Terminal 1,  in Concourse E between gates 71 & 75 at the CIBO, Feta, and Heirloom outlets.

This is very helpful for Toronto Ė NY

Just updated a bunch.

Thanks for the creating this thread. I think all the discussions about Kosher food in airports/lounges are messy since they're all over the place, so this is nice. But, all the other discussions are in Up In The Air. Why is this one in the TR board?

Why were the other locations of CBTL in LAX removed? CBTL's website lists them as current locations. Also, LGA was started, but it looks like it got cut off before being finished.

I don't know how to edit the wiki so anyone who does should please do so based on this-in TLV there is a Rabbanut Mehadrin Tel Aviv Pizza hut before going through security. After Passport control in the food court there is an Aroma espresso bar that is Chug Chasam Sofer. The rolls in the dan lounge is from angels bakery and they have mehadrin yogurts, butter, etc....

I think the best way to do the TLV section is like all Israel info pages on the forum-to list the establishment and exactly which hechsher it is and then let each man decide for himself......Whats good for one is not kosher for another :D

I think the only way to approach it is to find a Rav who is knowledgeable in Israeli Hashgachos and follow him for advice.

Eida Hareidi is most widely accepted by most.  Badatz Mehadrin (Rav Rubin) and Rav Landau (lubavitch) also.  Yes, Rav Landau from Bnei Brak is considered a high hashgacha even by nonchabad.  Eida Chareidi Belz is high, but many litvish won't use only because of masoret.  Badatz Bet Yosef is excellent for sefaradim, not ashkenazim.  Chasam  Sofer Petach Tikva or Bnei Brak changes back and forth through the years.  Many who keep a strict standard used to use Rabbanut Yerushalayim Mehadrin, but stopped a number of years ago.  Even if you use the OU in the US, the OU from E-Y is totally different.  Many/most who keep a stricter level don't rely on it for many products.

My questions was whether you can get food from one lounge then go to the other and eat there. I.e. does CX have any way/reason to stop you from pre-ordering 2 KSMLs via the 2 lounges

When I was in Yeshiva there (about 3 months ago) almost none of the ashkenazim ate it (dunno about the sephardim). Machpud on the other hand was a Sephardic Hashgocho that was more widely accepted.

Just a data point, I was at the Wing F lounge recently and got a KSML. It's basically airplane food (Hermoles) but it's nice to have it you're hungry. Also, the Pier orders these meals to the Wing so you can't get one at each lounge.

I believe I've been to two Wing lounges.

One was right after immigration on the left, which seemed to be exclusively for first class passengers.
The other was near the gates and had two sides - the left for business class and the right for first class.

Maybe it's all the same lounge with different entrances? Could be, but it didn't look that way.

As you can see, there are indeed two wing lounges. One on level 6 (which is exclusively for first class) and the other on level 7 (which is divided between business and first).

just got off the phone with a very helpful woman in the QF F lounge in SYD, and she said they can get me kosher breakfast in the lounge next week. And she said that when they call me on the day before my flight I should just tell them what I want - implying they will literally go to a kosher place in Sydney and pick up what I request. Anybody have an experience like this? I thought it was just going to be a frozen meal from Lewis or something (not that I'm complaining).

turns out she either just didn't know what she was talking about, or YMMV depending on who you talk to in the lounge. I tried to get them to book me a kosher meal when they called before my flight but the guy just kept saying, "yes, we cater to all dietary needs, halal, etc." In the end I just had fruit and some pastries I brought from Glick's.
There was plenty to enjoy in the lounge regardless (massage, virtual reality goggles, the tarmac, etc.) Nicest lounge I've ever been in. Oh, and the meal on the plane was fantastic.

Update on Heathrow - I was in T5 last week. WH Smith (the big one airside, on same floor as security) had a very good range of DD's/Hermolis sandwiches. Around 10 varieties, including Chicken salad, Salt Beef, smoked salmon bagel etc. Most cost around 5 pounds each, but 2 (cheese and coleslaw and egg salad) were avaialble as part of the 2.99 meal deal which includes a drink (soda/juice/water) and chocolate/chips.

As an aside, the BA lounge is now unable to defrost the free kosher salmon bagel before they give it to you, due to 'health and safety'. So you need to wait a few hours to eat it. They will happily defrost and heat up the Hermolis soup they have.

The last time I was there  (February) they had some kosher sandwiches and salads in one of the concenvience stores in the AA concourse, can't remember which one. They looked reasonable. There were also loads of yummy Zak the Baker pastries and breads in the AA Flagship lounge, which were a whole lot better!

The comments of this article seem to say this is outdated...
Does anyone know if MIA has any kosher food these days?
it is outdated I didn't find anything near AA when I was there in January

The last time I was there  (February) they had some kosher sandwiches and salads in one of the concenvience stores in the AA concourse, can't remember which one. They looked reasonable. There were also loads of yummy Zak the Baker pastries and breads in the AA Flagship lounge, which were a whole lot better!
Nice. i dont think ill have access to the flagship lounge. Flying F but not on a 3-class plane

Walked the entire D concourse in MIA.... Nothing doing....

Until we were passing "the shoppes at ocean drive" which is across from gate D17 (2 min walk from the centurion lounge and the AAdmirals club at D15) and my wife yells "hey look at that... Zak the baker."

They had assorted items such as a small box of (4) cookies for $9.99, granola, breads etc.

ATL (Atlanta) now has Kosher food available on Concourse A.

It's refrigerated sandwiches and wraps from FuegoMundo, and excellent local restaurant supervised by the Atlanta Kashrus Commission.

At the ELAL Gate in YYZ (C30) they have a non kosher restaurant (Heirloom) which sells pre packaged meals from Grodzinski in Toronto. I saw:

Tuna Salad
Egg Salad
Pastrami
They also had Yogurt and Granola and Kosher hard boiled eggs...

4 PM flight out of EWR, terminal C.
Does anyone know the hours of the Kosher Market by CIBO? Anyone been recently?
Or does anyone know the general availability of prepackaged CIBO/fresko food? Don't want to get stuck without food.

Flying alone. Worth ordering? I thought it may be too much of a hassle. It's always been my go-to when flying with family though.
