With BA tickets being available recently as low as $1,100 - 1,200 from NYC, paying ~600 a night for the hotel, doesn't seem like a great deal.

Well there was this - http://onemileatatime.boardingarea.com/2016/06/01/cheap-business-class-tickets-to-europe/ .That was some time ago, recently tickets were available for $1800-1900 rt - $400 aarp discount.

BA business class to tlv between 6/20 and 8/29 only $1536 per person after aarp and 10% visa discount (2 ppl required)
