$80 for unlimited data, talk and text on your smartphone
$45 per line for four lines with unlimited data, talk and text on your smartphones and tablets
On all Verizon Unlimited plans you get our fast LTE speeds. To ensure a quality experience for all customers, after 22 GB of data usage on a line during any billing cycle we may prioritize usage behind other customers in the event of network congestion

I wonder what it will cost if I wanna add more than 4 lines .

Not throttled ...

deprioritized...

Big difference.

I know someone on T-Mobile who used 50-75 GB a month and was never slowed down.

So I still have the grandfathered plan with 400 minutes and 250 texts although I don't talk or text that much so don't really need more. Should I switch though to this new plan? Per their website

"On all Verizon Unlimited plans you get our fast LTE speeds. To ensure a quality experience for all customers, after 22 GB of data usage on a line during any billing cycle we may prioritize usage behind other customers in the event of network congestion. While we don’t expect to do that very often, network management is a crucial tool that benefits all Verizon customers. If you’re on Verizon Unlimited, you’ll have the same coverage and reliability as everybody else."

But I don't foresee needing more than 20GB per month anyway. Thoughts?

I pay appx $100 p/m with (NV) taxes currently. I'm just wondering if it's safer to stay with the old plan. No way to know how long this current one will last but they're keeping alive my old plan. Nd I'm not capped at 22GB

Thank you for posting all those details.

One other thing that seems to be different. On my current Verizon Plan (3GB) I get unlimited free international SMS. IINM on the new unlimited plan there's a charge, unless you add some kind of global option.

I also have 25GB promo Verizon Cloud on my current plan, which I would probably lose if I switched plans.

400 minutes sounds like something you may occasionally use up. 22gb is a lot, and you might not even feel it even if you do go over.

I would compare the costs and go with the new plan if the same or cheaper.

Remember when comparing to T-Mobile's offering that T-Mobile includes taxes and fees in the price. That makes a huge difference. For one line Verizon's $80 plan will probably cost $95+ vs. T-Mobile's $70.

As the old saying goes: everything has a price (or alternatively: "everything is for sale at the right price").

Many here are willing to pay more (in points or dollars) for long-distance flights in J, but most wouldn't do it at standard rates, only at saver rates.

While Verizon is fully aware of their premium value proposition, there is a point where people will be willing to settle for less for a lower price.

Also, on the one hand competitors can keep on trying to catch up to the network quality, and on the other hand Verizon has already recovered some of their sunk costs of their network (though these things seem to constantly be upgraded).

I'm talking about the $90 unlimited up to five lines. But you must get phones with the plan which means you're locked in for 18-24 months paying for the phone and ultimately have to pay for service too. The sprint $90 promotion applies to all monthly bills till March 31 2018 and after it will go up... So essentially I'm stuck with Sprint, but they may just have a promotion by then that I can continue with them. otherwise I'll deal with the 11 months left with their CS... Anyone ever had experience with Sprint CS? Are they lucrative and flexible enough like Verizon? TIA

Switched over 18 lines.  According to my rep (guy we always work with) the $20 lines stand as is.
Only limitation over my old plan is that each subaccount can only have 10 lines,  so I have to have two $110 lines.
Also tablets went from $10 to $20.
Net additional cost is $80 per month,  which I'll make up in overage,  and it frees up a lot of data anxiety.

What's the credit card thing you're talking about?

Absolutely not.

Wonder if the $100 for two lines would make every added line still only $20 on top of the $100 (so six lines would be $180).

of the two that said it needs to be used one said for 30 days and one said for 45 days.

one of the reps who said the line needs to be active but actual phone doesn't need to be used marked that on my account, would that be enough, in case i am charged for it, since i want it as a backup?

and am i able to give it to a friend to use, even though it's in a two year contract?

I guess it depends on the plan that you are on, but for my plan the 2 yr contract thing was a big hoax.

On my plan, once you get past your 2 yr contract (and are month to month) the line cost drops to $20. If you want to upgrade your phone with a 2yr contract they will offer a "subsidized" phone (lets say $200 upfront for the phone) but then raise your line cost to $40 per month. In the end of the day that's basically the same cost as the month to month plans that they are pushing without any upfront cost.

I have tried 10 times over the last couple weeks from multiple computers. The phones all say upgrade eligible, but do not actually allow you to go through the upgrade process.

We switched from grandfathered data to the new unlimited plan.
Saves a bundle on the rate and free Canada was a big push as JJ and I were there for Pesach.
With FoxFi not working on Android 7 it also allows me to upgrade devices if I need to and still have the hotspot feature.

Hope I don't regret it though.

Well the old plan didn't allow hotspot, but worked unlimited via unlimited data.
The new plan allows 10GB of 4G hotspot before it slows to 3G, though I could use FoxFi for up to 22GB of 4G regular data usage (and potentially slowed after 22GB).

We hope you’re enjoying your new Verizon unlimited data plan and taking full advantage of benefits like HD video streaming and Mobile Hotspot.
You’re currently receiving a $10 monthly discount for enrollment in Auto Pay with paperless billing, and using a credit card to pay your bill. Consistent with the terms of the Verizon unlimited plan when you enrolled, and to make sure you don’t lose your discount, please change your Auto Pay method of payment to either a debit card or bank account.
Changing your Auto Pay payment method is easy. Just log in to My Verizon or use the My Verizon app. Click on “My Billing” > “Auto Pay” > “Manage Auto Pay,” and enter your new debit card or bank account information. Please be sure to make this change by May 15, 2017, or your discount will be removed within 1–2 bill cycles.

I changed to the unlimited plan. I currently have a 19% discount on my account, but the discount wouldn't work on the unlimted plan

Only discount on this plan that would work if you add someone active or past military member on my account

does anyone have an military card ? please PM (willing to pay)

Dear customer,
Thanks for being an Unlimited customer. To show our appreciation, we’d like to tell you about two ways we’re making your plan even better.
First, we are introducing a different kind of rewards program called Verizon Up. How is it different? It’s super simple and gives you rewards you’ll actually want. The way it should be.
Verizon Up offers rewards that range from everyday treats like music subscriptions to
once-in-a-lifetime experiences like VIP passes to exclusive concerts and sporting events. To enroll, just download the My Verizon app.
Second, as part of our new Unlimited plan choices, we are introducing Beyond Unlimited. This plan has all the benefits of your current plan, plus an increase to 15GB of Hotspot usage at 4G LTE speeds. So you can do even more with your unlimited data across all your devices.
And because you’ve been with us from the beginning, we’re upgrading your plan to include the additional Beyond Unlimited plan benefits at no additional cost. We’ve already updated your plan; there’s nothing you need to do!
So, enjoy your new upgraded unlimited plan and Verizon Up rewards on the network that just keeps getting better. RootMetrics, the largest independent study, just ranked Verizon the nation’s #1 network. Now 8 times in a row. Because there’s no such thing as “good enough” in our vocabulary.
Thanks again for the opportunity to serve you.
Sincerely,
Ronan Dunne
President, Verizon Wireless

Why would that be a scam?
That's exactly what I wrote on DDMS.

Just read it. I currently have 2 lines on the 2017 unlimited. Any idea if when I have to add a 3rd line I will be grandfathered in for that as well or I will have to pay new pricing?

What exactly do you mean by "phone upgrades"?  monthly payments/retail pricing or old subsidized upgrade?
Also, why should upgrading impact throttling?
what'd you end up doing? it looks like the upgrades were not available? correct?
so, sorry for the delayed response:)

The plan would have been to upgrade all phones will on the old plan to utilize the upgrades before switching to a new type of plan that only has the monthly thingy.

throttling - because once you go to the new VZW unlimited plan it comes with throttling / deprioritizing after 22 gb (not the same thing, I know). now the lowest tier includes deproirtizing anytime fyi
