Chase ink cash raised the sign up bonus from $300 to $500
Was just about to post this. I was in bank to open some accounts, and the guy offered me the new bonus.
Not sure if it's better to do it online, or in person. Any thoughts?
EDIT: did it online, got approved for 45k

Is this actual cash or UR points converted to cash?

Why not just get an Ink Preferred instead?
-
Should get getting a DD link for this today.

Why not just get an Ink Preferred instead?
Annual fee. I know that technically I'm not losing money, since I make up the difference in points.
I'll find out if Google ads qualify as social media bonus categories. If yes, I'll probably open it in a year from now. I'll be able to get the years bonus in a month...
-
Why not just get an Ink Preferred instead?
ink preferred doesn't have 5% back categories
-
ink preferred doesn't have 5% back categories
Get the increased bonus, make a product change and boom 80k with 5x categories while barely paying an AF
-

True, but the sign up bonus is almost double. After getting the SUB, you can just downgrade to a cash.
-
Can you downgrade within 12 months?
-
Can you downgrade within 12 months?
I did it after 2 months, and that was already once the Sapphire 12 month restriction was around.
-

ink preferred is 30000 more points that means if you spend more than $6000 in the 5× points category you did better
-

The point is that you can get the higher SUB and still downgrade to get the 5x.

Or get both :)

No.
As many inks as you are getting, get Preferreds. :) :)

No.

Then you need more businesses.

You can get multiple for one business, although you may need some more time between approvals.

Same transfer partners, Hyatt?
It's regular UR, but the card can't transfer, so as long as you or your spouse have a card that can transfer to partners (including Hyatt) UR earned from the CIC can be transferred too.
-
I don't have a business. Can I still sign up for chase ink to get the $500 bonus?
-

That would be fraud.

I don't know if you made a typo or just explained that horribly but that made no sense.
-
Same transfer partners, Hyatt?
You'll have to do a UR-UR transfer to a card that can transfer to partners.
-
I don't know if you made a typo or just explained that horribly but that made no sense.
I took it to mean if I have another UR card that allows transfers to Hyatt these points will also transfer, no?

Better?

Well then maybe you should be a little more careful, the difference between "can" and "can't" is kinda big.

What is a good card recommendation. Have $12,000 purchase coming up, is there one account that I can get good rewards for that?

If the intent is pretending you have a business to get the card for SUB that is fraud. Try and justify it any way you want.

Applied yesterday and got approved.
Requested expedited and hopefully should be here in a few days.
Just wondering though why it still hasn’t shown up on my online account.
I assumed after approval, it would instantly show.
Any ideas?

Is this your first Chase business card? Because Chase doesn't add business card to your personal login you'd have to make a new one.

You've been away from Chase for too long :)

I may confuse that facts about you. But I'd NEVER confuse you with someone else. Not possible.

Yup. First business card with Chase.
I assume I need to wait for the actual physical card to create the login? Or possible to to do before hand?

This is a first. I applied for Ink cash under sole proprietor, and chase held it up under the Patriot Act and said I need to provide proof of business name through IRS records, utility bills or articles of incorporation. I have never had this happen before. Usually just use a random name as the company name and say I sell things online. Should I just be using my own name as the company name? TYVM.

You should be using your own name for safety. It seems this has been happening lately, you have to call recon and hope they ignore it. Or if it's the same day reapply with your name.
This isn't your first Chase business card?

I have another Ink and a few AMEX business cards. I applied for it last night and called the reference number this AM when they told me hold up was Patriot Act. Too late to reapply on my own name with my name as the company or call back and ask to alter app?
-

Because I don't have any of those documents. I sell a few things on ebay, but don't have any official sole proprietorship documents that they want.

Call back and ask for a reconsideration only if they mention that you need those docs should you ask them to alter name

I had the same issue with CIP, used my unregistered buisness name, called recon and the rep was able to change the app to my name, no issues

Of course, just a DP

I already have this card using my name as the business name. How would I go about opening up another one without dealing with any documents?

As a sole proprietor it is always recommended to use your name as the business name.

Same here. Didn't even have to ask to change it to my name. After i said i file my taxes under my own name and not the business name she put me on hold and came back and said i was approved.

+1. especially with Amex, in case of an FR.

You put down the legal name of the business. The problem is when so many are pretending they have a business.

When they ask for bus name and it's not a registered official name you give them is that a legal problem? What if someone has a small side business and that's what they call it but it's not registered ?
One they pay taxes on etc.
(An actual business, not a 'made up' one to apply)

AFAIK you can have a legal Sole proprietor with a DBA as a random name, not your own name. And when it comes to taxes they have no idea, and don't need to have an idea that you are doing business as "CM biweekly Vegas trip" rather you earned the money via self employment. More then that is irrelevant.
If I resell 10k of products annually, I thereby have a sole prop. And FWIW my business can DBA "I'm a troll".(
)

You put down the legal name of your business. It is that simple. The problem is many have no business so they want to know how to get around that. We both know what is going on.

We're talking sole prop. without legal business docs.
That's what I did before opening my corp.
Wasn't worth he hassle of opening a corp when i was just starting out to test the waters.

Creating an LLC is ridiculously easy, this shouldn't really be a problem for anyone.

FTFY
There is something called a Sole Proprietor, which can RIGHTFULLY lead to such questions.

Does it change how you have to file taxes?

Not sure what you are getting at or what you are asking. The OP was about putting down the name of the business for a SP. Many said put down your own name. You but down the legal name of the business. If you don't have a legal business don't apply and commit fraud.

Granted.
But if it's a SP and the there is no legal/registered business name.
If you are doing business as your self, without a "business" at all, say your friends call you up to do IT work for them you write your own name, because that's your DBA.
But if to your neighbor your business is called "Yaakov's IT" to your shver its "Yankel's IT" and to your goyish friend its "Jack's IT".
What do you write then?

Still haven't figured out if it's a legal issue to not have registered my business name and if when applying I am better off using my own name as the business name.
Can anyone shed any light on this?

GIYF. There are many reports that suggest that. As we see more recently with Chase asking for proof of business unless you use your own name.

I got my wife the CIP last year and downgraded a month ago to ink cash to avoid AF. She's still under 5/24. Can I get her this new ink cash offer if she already has one card open? And how about getting CIP? Does she need to wait another year to be eligible for the bonus?

You can get either, no need to wait.

I actually went and read that, found this “In fact, no formal filing or event is required to form a sole proprietorship; it is a status that arises automatically from one's business activity.”
-
Can I get the bonus for the Ink Cash if I already have one? to be clear, it was not opened as Ink Cash, but rather a downgrade from an old Ink Plus / Bold.
If not, how long after closing it can I apply and get the bonus? again, I never received a bonus for Ink Cash before.
