I purchased tickets a while ago to go JFK to PHX with aa and back home with JetBlue. I now decided that I want to take my 7 year old along. the website doesn't allow me to purchase a ticket for a minor. can I just buy and put in the wrong DOB? will I need to call the airline to change the DOB? do I need to link the itineraries or can I just let it be?

Birthdates don't matter. Just make him older.

Thanks. what about having separate itinerary, will it be ok by TSA...?

They don't see the date of birth on the ticket, and most airlines you can call after you book to change the DOB.

May book ticket for 14 year old as a 16 year old to avoid fees. She would be flying with birth certificate as ID through security, Should I be concerned they'd stop her when they see her age?

Don’t need to provide any ID under 18.

Ok, she's flying herself. I've heard they ask in the past

they might ask, but all you have to do is invoke the secret password... "under 18"
