Title: Global Entry
Post by: sbw129 on April 26, 2018, 03:10:37 PM
I have previously sign myself and my wife up for Global entry, however I am now going to be traveling with my kids (3&5) to Israel. Do I need to pay for them as well? Additionally, My wife is pregnant and is due about 3 months before we go to Israel. Do I need a Global Entry for the newborn? If I do, is there a way to speed up the process since the passport process will also take a little bit of time?

TIA

Last time I came through with infant I was yelled at for coming with someone without GE, I applied for her and now she's conditionally approved.... What will they do by the interview?

For me who still didn't sign up for GE, I can't go wrong with this, better then nothing.
GE/TSA PRE check are still a huge advantage when flying out of the US being able to cut all the lines to get past security.

About how long till I’m out? Does it depend on the lines or you get an appointment?

Was no wait for me, and I doubt you'll have to wait, they sent me to the agent meant for GE who have problems with the Kiosk, so it's mostly empty and 2 agents sitting around, it took between 5-10 min.
Easy smooth process.

And don't forget to bring proof of address, although on site it says just your passport, but the agent wouldn't process without proof.

Yup, I first started arguing that I saw online only passport is needed, so he said they don't know our job and I can't finish the process without proof of address.
Than this came to my mind..

Agent happened to accept a phone rental receipt, that was rented for my trip tat morning, as a proof of address...
well isn't that great proof? just comes to show how safe and secure GE is..

Anyone here went for an interview in JFK pre flight to Canada? How long does the whole appointment take?
I would use mobile passport but thats only great for arrivals.
Really want to apply for nexus, but availability is so scarce for some odd reason so theres no way I can book an appointment for when I land.

We had applied for our Global Entry passes and our interview, which we had to schedule months in advance, was scheduled very close to our departure for Israel.  We decided to stop at the office at BWI airport on our way to visit our kids.  It turned out, on that day, they had a lot of no shows for the interview.  We were able to slip in to an empty slot.  Don't know if this is possible in larger offices like the JFK or NY metro area, but if you have the ability to try it on a weekday or get to the airport early on another trip, you may be able to bypass the wait.

Living in brooklyn, not worth driving out to ewr to go to yyz, will take jfk vs lga to go to the GE interview.
What I really wanted was to get Nexus as I go constantly from the u.s. to Canada but being that in YYZ there is no availability for an appointment up untill Oct 16th, I tried in the past walking up today agent asked him if I can take an interview he told me I have to book it in advance online so that takes care of that, I guess we'll have to do with GE until I can get Nexus, and lastly find a seller for 15$ to get the ge application fee, or find a freind of mine who has an au who never made use of the credit yet.

Not sure, but as a PSA...
If you don't have GE for your kids and you go on that line you can LOSE your global privileges.
Children need their own GE cards.

TSA pre is usually included for children if the adult has it... The same is NOT true with global.

Interesting!!

https://thepointsguy.com/news/global-entry-rules-mistake-story/

Global Entry membership only works for one person. Each individual needs to enroll separately *(including young children)* , and you must be enrolled to use the expedited security lanes. Attempting to bring someone else with you could not only delay you further,

*but also cause your membership to be revoked*

That’s not the case for TSA PreCheck, which extends to children 12 or under who are traveling with a parent or guardian. So long as your boarding pass has the PreCheck indicator, they should be able to accompany you.

Basically once you get an conditionally approved application meaning you can apply today you won't get conditionally approved till a week later then from that date you get a conditionally approved status you have 365 days to go and take your interview.

Anyone familiar with Nexus meaning I have a conditionally approved application for global entry and I'm going to take the interview in Pearson International Airport that's in Canada for the same price I can go and apply for Nexus or they will only allow me to apply for Global Entry?
Meaning even if they want another $50 which I'll pay will they allow me to take the interview for Nexus vs. Global Entry?

Seems like it's only $38 when applying through the Canadian website for nexus.

What is NEXUS?
NEXUS is a bilateral program governed by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA).

The NEXUS program allows pre-screened travelers expedited processing when entering the United States and Canada. Program members use dedicated processing lanes at designated northern border ports of entry, NEXUS kiosks when entering Canada by air, and Global Entry Kiosks when entering the United States via Canadian Preclearance airports. NEXUS members also receive expedited processing at marine reporting locations.

Travelers interested in participating in NEXUS must complete an application through the TTP website. You can apply online or by mailing/faxing the application to the Canadian Customs Processing Center (CPC). Please see the CBSA website for a list of regional CPCs, mailing addresses, and fax numbers.

To qualify, an applicant must pass law enforcement checks by both the United Sates and Canada and be interviewed at a NEXUS Enrollment Center. Membership may be denied if the applicant provides false or incomplete information or has been convicted of a criminal offense.

Payment must be made at the time of application. Applicants are encouraged to apply online as paper applications will be phased out. The processing fee for a five-year membership is $50 USD or $50 CAD (for applicants 18 years of age and older). Children under 18 can apply with no fee. Applicants who submit their application via the U.S. CBP TTP website will pay $50 USD while applicants who submit via the Canadian GEC website will pay $50 CAD. Canadian-based applicants who apply through US CBP TTP might be charged more or less than $50 Canadian, because of fluctuating exchange rates. Likewise, U.S.-based applicants who apply through Canadian GEC may pay more or less than $50 USD because of fluctuating exchange rates. There may also be a finance charge for foreign transactions.

If you submitted an application through CBSA, then you will need to create a TTP online account and link it to the PASSID (which is your membership number, not your passport number) to be able to schedule an interview and activate your card.

And under 18 is free.

i had the same issue. People cancel all the time but unless you're constantly refreshing the page, you'll never get the dates you want because the way the website works is that the next person who signs up will automatically see the first available slot, which is the cancelled one.

Instead of checking myself all day, I wrote a program that checks every 2 minutes and texts me when a slot on a specific day opened up. Once i set it up, took less than a week and I was able to get interviews at YYZ for both wife and son on the day I wanted, within 30 minutes of each other.

PM me if you have specific dates in mind and want me to set it up to alert you.

That's kind of you offering to help.
But believe it or not I found an open slot for today the 26th at 10:30am.
I applied for GE vs Nexus on erev Y"K as the slots for the nexus enrollment center(In YYZ) was backed up till October 16th, having something(GE) is better then nothing as I'm only in Toronto for Y"T.
Little did i know I would not be conditionally approved until a day before Suckos so flying out of jfk for a few dollars more was a bust vs lga for $99, hoping I would be conditionally approved and take the interview @jfk, but being that all that went south I looked periodically at the nexus enrollment center availibilty to see if anything opened and to my surprise I saw before yt that today morning was available, so took the 10:30am appointment and came at 11am and was in and out within 5 minutes, the whole interview is to be fingerprinted.
Was a bust that I didnt apply for nexus if I was already going to yyz for the interview, the officers were also surprised why book an appointment for GE and pay $100 while Nexus includes the whole shebang for $50..
Ah gitten moed.

And yes was approved for GE,now it's time to sign the family up for Nexus.(Under 18 is free)

Do they consider checks part of the $10k limit? I thought it was $10 cash, but looks like I am wrong. Also is it $10k per person if you are travelling with family?

Landed in JFK T1 on 9/12/18 - Half of the GE machines were broken, and when done with the machines you get on the line with Mobile passport - whom of course they get straight on the line not having to use the machine prior. Luck had it that an usher called out all GE people to other customs windows to process. My companion who went with the regular line was out before me

Interesting that you had to wait in line after using the Kiosk. By me it was checked by agent standing next to the machine, took a second.

T4 the Kiosks are on the side & leads straight to an agent - T1 is against the back wall directly opposite the center line - and the center line is for GE/Mobile/Crew/APEC

Oops!  Would love some advice... I charged global entry to a card 2 months ago , but didn't realize I already used that card a year ago... Now the credit won't apply... Any ideas?
Just a dp, I got a credit. Spoke to manager acted a little annoyed yet understanding... 'you know what I'll just add a $100 credit to your account '

Lucky,

I have been there a few times recently already (and not recently) they are the epitome of government workers - in no rush whatsoever. I have waited up to an hour after my scheduled appointment, with them just sitting there in the office taking a break.

Another time we were berated by a young african american officer for almost 5 mins for "being late" while we were waiting in their designated waiting area for nearly 45 minutes, he then went around poking fun at all the people (now gathered as for a while they were breaking inside, so many were waiting outside as the appointments are scheduled one after the other) waiting there, literally thought he was a comedian, and in some cases just badgering those sitting there with dumb questions/jokes.

So, its hit or miss I guess. When I was there this week, we waited for 35 mins, but the people working there were very nice.

On another note, what is this scam with kids under the age of 5 and global entry? Basically they do not allow you to even attempt to take their fingerprints, meanwhile without that global entry is useless. The only thing it technically does is they put you in front of the regular line (and im sure there are rogue agents that'll make you wait the whole line), but that takes away half the point, I recently waited even at the front of the line 25 minutes. Kiosk for me and my wife took 60 seconds.

Does anyone know how interview on arrival works at YYZ?
I went there recently,I think there is only one place for the interviews which is directly across the police station inside the terminal.
Go for Nexus if your already taking the interview.

I go to Canada pretty often, enough that it pays for the family to each get approved for Nexus, as the border lines when crossing is retarded sometimes, as well when flying you could use the Nexus lane when going in and coming out of Canada.
I ended up being in Toronto for suckos so I found an open date early morning chol hamoed and went for the GE application, while I was there I'm like any way for me to swap it for the Nexus application as a Nexus is only $50 while global entry is $100 (and Nexus includes everything while global entry only includes TSA) so he said good question I don't think I could do that for you, but you should have applied for Nexus because whatever is in our system it's the only thing I can process.
The whole interview was 5 minutes chick-chock he said Nexus applications are much longer, he was thrilled to process my GE application as he's used to processing Nexus applications which takes some time.
Very interesting that none of the Canadian Nexus enrollment people had weapons on them.

I remember when flying from JFK to YYZ I stopped off at the Nexus enrollment center / GE enrollment center and ask about an interview they told me no you have to schedule an interview, so don't know if they offer walk-in applicants/applications.

For those who don't have Global entry, there's an app that saves your passport info and allows passenger to scan passport from app upon arrival and proceed straight to an agent, essentially making the process almost as fast as GE. for us (wife and kids) we did the "interview" in Terminal 4 JFK, it was a in and out, 5min max .. and didn't check any proof (utility bill/licence) only the first page of each passport to make sure that the number on it are the same as the application ..

If you do "Enrollment on Arrival" (no appointment needed) then it's right BEFORE passport control

Thank you for contacting the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Information Center.

The extended partial government shutdown and the ongoing humanitarian and security crisis on our southern border have resulted in a substantial backlog of CBP's Trusted Traveler Programs (TTP) applications and renewals.

Applicants for Global Entry (GE), SENTRI, NEXUS and FAST should expect significant delays in application processing times and limited appointment availability at TTP enrollment centers.

Answer Title: I have submitted my Trusted Traveler application for review. Did CBP receive my application?
Answer Link: https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/detail/a_id/1332

You can check the status of your application from your TTP Dashboard at https://ttp.cbp.dhs.gov/, which is displayed after you login. Please make sure you are logging in with the email address that you submitted your application with.

If your application status is "Pending Review" then your application has been received and is being processed. Please note that processing times vary by applicant, but on average you can expect your application to be processed:

• Global Entry/FAST: up to 100 days
• NEXUS: 3-5 months
• SENTRI: 8-10 months

This includes vehicle enrollments. Again, these are average times - your application may take a SHORTER or LONGER time to process depending on what the vetting center determines, not when it was submitted. The vetting process cannot be expedited.

If you have submitted a paper NEXUS application, you will be mailed a letter by CBSA. Please contact them directly for further assistance: https://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/prog/nexus/menu-eng.html

If you submit a renewal application before April 17, 2019 (before your current membership expires) you can continue to use your benefits (up to 6 months past the expiration date) until the renewal is finalized. We recommend you print out a copy of your TTP Dashboard showing that the renewal is pending to show a CBP Officer, if requested.

If you submit a renewal application on or after April 17, 2019 (before your current membership expires) or if you are current in the 6 month grace period, then you can continue to use your benefits (up to 1 year past the expiration date) until the renewal is finalized. We recommend you print out a copy of your TTP Dashboard showing that the renewal is pending to show a CBP Officer, if requested.

A follow-up interview may be required upon renewal. This is determined by the vetting center and the determination cannot be appealed.

After the application has been reviewed, the status will be updated to one of the following three statuses:

> Conditionally Approved: https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/detail/a_id/1377
> Denied: https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/detail/a_id/1150
> Approved: https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/detail/a_id/1292

A letter will be posted in your TTP dashboard under Notifications with additional information.

If you are conditionally approved, you will need to schedule an interview. You must complete the interview within 365 days of conditional approval or your application will be cancelled and you will need to submit a new fee and application if you still wish to be a member.

Please reply to this email if you need further assistance and we will investigate how we may further assist you.

Thank you again for contacting the CBP Information Center.

I submitted an application some time ago and never got a response its still "pending.."

In error I paid with the old IHG card, so no GE credit.

I disputed the charge after receiving no reply from our government and indicated to chase that as per their own website they should've made a determination by x date.

As of not I was credited the GE 100 charge.

When government doesn't dilever, dispute!

From what your explaining happened with your application it would seem it went into some waiting line together with the Mexico immigration border, while a new application would process and clear while your old one would still be on hold, and when it finally is released they will see you have one and possibly refund you the $100?? Who knows. I would go for it, just hope you don't have problems for a duplicate application.

TRAVEL
If you fib to the feds and get caught, as this couple did, you probably aren’t going to become a Trusted Traveler

AUG. 20, 2018
Cuba sings a siren song for those who long to see it before it’s spoiled. These days, it’s easier to travel there than it was in, say, 2014.

The Treasury Department regulations you must comply with today are less onerous than in times past, but these days, you still can’t go to Cuba for the fun of it. At least, not legally.

You couldn’t spend your days lolling on the beach in 2014, either, unless you decided to skip the legalities and fly to Cuba without the license the Treasury Department required. Some Americans did that, flying through Mexico or other nations to reach the communist country in the Caribbean.

Some made sure their passport wasn’t stamped, and if they didn’t get caught — some did and paid a steep price, but many did not — they could cross Cuba off their travel bucket list.

But at least one couple recently paid the price, thanks to the law of unintended consequences.

This couple, who fly in and out of the U.S. fairly often, decided to apply for Global Entry, the Trusted Traveler program from Customs and Border Protection.

Global Entry allows you to speed through customs when you return from abroad. As a bonus, you also get PreCheck, the Transportation Security Administration’s fast-through-airport-security program that lets you keep on your belt, shoes and jacket.. Global Entry costs $100 for five years.

You must apply, which means you’ll undergo “a thorough background check against criminal, law enforcement, Customs, Immigration, Agriculture, and terrorist indices to include biometric fingerprint checks, and a personal interview with a CBP officer,” CBP said in an email.

The couple in question made it to the interview process. She had asked Cuban authorities not to stamp her passport, but her husband’s passport got stamped.

At the joint interview, the officer asked whether they had been to any other countries besides the ones they had listed, and the husband, whom she described as relentlessly honest, said that yes, they had been to Cuba.

The interview, the wife said, was immediately “terminated.”

Would they ever be able to get Global Entry?

Customs and Border Protection did say this in an email:

You may not get Global Entry if you “provide false or incomplete information on the application; have been convicted of any criminal offense or have pending criminal charges to include outstanding warrants; have been found in violation of any Customs, Immigration or Agriculture regulations or laws in any country; are subjects of an investigation by any federal, state, or local law enforcement agency; are inadmissible to the United States under immigration regulation, including applicants with approved waivers of inadmissibility or parole documentation; or [they] cannot satisfy CBP of their low-risk status or meet other program requirements.”

We don’t know for sure which of these tripped up this couple. CBP said it would look it up if the couple would provide their names and dates of birth. They declined.

If I were a betting woman, I’d put my money on “incomplete information.” It’s unclear whether CBP knew the husband had been to Cuba and was just waiting for him to come clean or whether it was a lucky guess, but whatever it was, the agency got a twofer: He outed himself and took his wife down with him.

Since the ill-starred interview, the wife said she had failed to get PreCheck, and she wondered during our interview whether she is now on a list of some sort. Maybe, maybe not. Her husband flew a few days later and he did get it.

We won’t know whether the agencies share that kind of information, because TSA did not respond to requests for comment on the matter.

Besides the annoyance of not knowing whether the government is whispering about you behind your back, if Global Entry rejects you, you don’t get back your $100 application fee. You’re 0 for 2 on this — no Trusted Traveler, no refund.

We might suggest Mobile Passport. The app’s home page says you will “breeze through Customs” at 25 airports (LAX is one of them) and two cruise ports. It’s available for iOS and on Google Play.

When you set up your profile, it notes, “Your information will be encrypted and shared only with CBP.”

The upside: The app is free. You won’t lose your money, although if you’re rejected, your pride may take a hit.

The bottom line is this: The federal government takes a dim view of those who skirt its regulations. Not getting Global Entry is a small punishment. As CBP said, “Note that being denied Global Entry membership does not prohibit individuals from being able to travel.”

Now that would be real punishment.

I applied in May still shows pending, would it be worth it to reapply? Would I be able to apply my already paid fee to a new application?

I can't imagine that would help, more likely get bogged down more. There are reports on FT of people getting approved after 5 months. On the GE website, they blame the slowdown on the govt shutdown!
That's no reason why people who apply now are getting approved, while others wait.

Many have gotten their conditional approvals (renewal and initial apps) from many months ago. Not everyone received emails notifying them of a status change. Login to your account.

Under 18yrs can get Nexus for free at any border crossings. But requires you to fill out application the same way you would with GE or TSA!

Right before new years. Guessing whether it needs manual review and/or interview is based off of an algorithm plus maybe a random sample.

Due to a significant increase in application volume, we are extending the grace period from 6 months to 1 year for any submitted renewal application. This means you will continue to receive full benefits for 1 year while U.S. Customs and Border Protection is finalizing your renewal application.

International? No need for an appointment. Just ask a CBP guy to conduct your interview on the spot.
Domestic? Try an hour after scheduled arrival. If they don’t let you in early worst case scenario is you’ll wait a bit.

Flying out to Cancun tom morning and only realized now that her Passport is expired (they though it expired august 2020 but it was really 2019).

She has a valid Global Entry card. Can she use that to get into Mexico and back into the US? Does it help if she is a teenager who is flying with her mother?

I'm with you - it seems to be an ego-inflated pissing match between Cuomo and Trump. To get Global Entry, you need your passport - that's a federal document and a federal database. Trump is doing this in retaliation for Cuomo blocking DHS from accessing NYS DMV Records.

Cuomo blocked the DMV Records because of concerns that the Federal Government would use them to conduct ICE raids after NYC Allowed non-documented visitors to get licenses.

Correct. You can also get GE if you've never had a licence in your life. And you can board a plane with any ny licence today, and ny issued real IDs moving forward. There are also 13 states that allow undocumented immigrants to get licences.

You'd think with REAL ID, the government would be able to figure out how to work around this if it was about actual security concerns.

Two relevant Articles:

‘Extortion’: N.Y. Assails Trump Administration Over Traveler Programs - https://www.nytimes.com/2020/02/06/nyregion/green-light-law-global-entry.html
Freeze on Global Entry Enrollment for New Yorkers: What We Know - https://www.nytimes.com/2020/02/06/nyregion/global-entry-what-to-know.html

While it does say that renewals will not be allowed, it doesn't mention anything about applications in process - which seem to be a mixed bag here based on people posting.

Reading between the lines:
- This is essentially a grudge match between Trump and Cuomo
- There is likely a situation where DHS/CBP can be provided with some information to make this work
- Currently, NY is the ONLY state that has stopped providing DMV records in some form to DHS/CBP (The other 14 states still provide DHS/CBP with some form of information)
- It seems like NY Dems do not want to change their law

Interesting to see how this plays out.

- Currently, NY is the ONLY state that has stopped providing DMV records in some form to DHS/CBP (The other 14 states still provide DHS/CBP with some form of information)
NY politicians prefer their "undocumented residents" to the documented ones. The Green Light law gives them a driving license, OK, but why does the DMV stops sharing info with DHS? so they won't be picked up by ICE. When the precious president rounded up and deported them that was OK with NY Democrats, they didn't say boo
- It seems like NY Dems do not want to change their law
the "undocumented residents" cannot vote (yet) but the documented ones could vote them out of office
anyway that's my Friday rant

Governor Cuomo is having a press conference to announce that NYS is suing DHS over this. It's also supposed to include updates on Corona Virus.

https://abc7ny.com/watch/23377/

Just turned it on - he's railing on Trump and Impeachment. He's trying to suggest that just like Trump extorted Zelensky and Ukraine, he's trying to extort NY.

He's factually incorrect - he's suggesting that it's over the allowing Undocumented people to get licenses, it's not - this didn't happen to the 14 other states.

I think this will be revered within the next week. Courts have repeatedly sided with states over the government changing a program specifically aimed at one state (or 7 countries in the initial travel ban).

The burden of proof is on the administration to show that the NY law and only the NY law inhibits their ability to conduct checks, but doesn't inhibit them from other background checks.

The one state clearly is different here. I don't think courts will intervene.

A few case scenarios:

- Court sides with NY, DHS will simply schlep NY apps for months without updating it (like till this week when they still had the shutdown banner)
- Trump loses the election
- Trump wins but the DNC wins both houses and impeaches & removes Trump
- Trump & GOP win 2020 but Cuomo loses 2022

The big losers are the NY residents that were in middle of the application (or even approved but didn't do the interview yet)

Either way when I have to re-apply in 2023 this matter will be settled (if Moshiach is not here by then)

DHS' decision immediately affects tens of thousands of New Yorkers and will impact hundreds of thousands of state residents within a year:

50,000 individuals have been conditionally approved for Global Entry, but have not yet completed their interview and thus will be "cut off" from completing their application.
30,000 additional New York residents are currently pending the vetting process for Global Entry.
Another 175,000 New Yorkers, whose Global Entry memberships expire this year, will not be permitted to re-enroll in the program.
Researchers estimate that reducing wait time at John F. Kennedy Airport alone could save millions of dollars in lost time.

I am not sure if other states limit the DMVs access to opt-in records, but I do believe that one or two states will let you get driving and demographic info, but do not include any citizenship information. I.e. the federal government can get the addresss and driving record of ANY driver, but has no access to their citizenship information.

Good idea to use the credit for tsa precheck or a different state GE then having amex claw back $100 in 2022.
Alternatively call amex to have them claw back the credit now..  just saying

It's illegal to have two homes?

And if I change my DL is that better?

They are but you only need the card for land crossings, for airports you use your passport.

Technically an expired ID is an invalid ID. You might get by with some grace period or warning but officially it is invalid. But yes the number is still the same.

For New York State, If you were already conditionally approved, and had an interview scheduled that was cancelled, are you still conditionally approved or do you have to re-apply for another $100.  We are still within the 1 year permitted to schedule an interview.
I am looking at my account online and it says no applications in progress.  But under notifications, it has my letter from Dec saying i should set up an interview.  I do not see a button allowing me to set up the interview- is that because they are not scheduling any interviews until September or because the whole application was rejected.
Thanks

i had this happen twice to family members, something is messed up in their system. Replacement card costs $25 and there isn't any option for 'never received card". i know its not needed for air travel, but still like to have it.

Applied for my sister on Sunday, and just got an email.

"There has been a recent change to the status of your application. Please login to the Trusted Traveler Programs Website (https://ttp.dhs.gov) for more information."

I forgot to save the codes they give you when filling out the application, when i ask for another method i get this.

"If you can't use any of the authentication methods above, you can reset your preferences by deleting your account."

How do i know if she got approved?

Didn't get a response to my question here (https://forums.dansdeals.com/index.php?topic=117696.msg2378395#msg2378395) so gonna try in this thread:
When I used the GE kiosk at my last entry, it didn't ask for the usual fingerprints, passport scan, customs questions, etc. After the initial picture, it printed my receipt and we were on our way. Both of us used different kiosks...Is that a normal occurrence?

I was actually worried about that because I had food with me that I wanted to declare, but after there was no place to declare I threw it into the nearest garbage.

And then there was no one standing by the customs desk and I walked right out of the airport...

Both my wife's and my GE are expiring this year (sep and dec respectively) I got credits from someone so I already renewed.
I'm a foreign citizen with green card, wife is US citizen.
Wife got conditionally approved within 2 days, but seems like she needs an interview, can we just do it upon arrival in JFK? (we're flying internationally soon).
Since her's doesn't expire till Dec, will she still get 5 full years from Dec?
No updates on mine yet, I'm curious if that's because I'm not a US citizen.
I also switched the passport I used, I had 2 foreign passports, the one I previously used has expired and not been renewed, so I put the other in this time.

Mine is expiring soon.
I not sure if I should renew which may require an interview for which I have no time an patience or just get TSA PRE which is what I mainly use it for.
(When I fly international I usually fly into ORD where I haven't found GE to make much of a difference in time)

If I apply just for TSA PRE might I also need an interview?
If I apply for GE and then they ask for interview, can I just cancel the renewal and apply for TSA PRE only?
Would my Sapphire reserve card reimburse me either way?

Renewals generally don't require interviews, though more chance of not requiring one if you renew it before it expires.

CSR covers GE/PreCheck.

I no longer live in the same state - so i have new driver license and new address, does this mean I will likely be called to interview? And can I avoid this by just applying for TSA PRE?

I didn't need it. Update your document online before you renew it.

You must sign up online for an interview, sometimes they have cancelations and you'd be able to book for the upcoming day. I'd check at least 3 times a day if it's time sensitive.
