Glatt bite is always consistent food is solid
Entree is well priced and the food is always great
Bunn has some solid options the appetizers are good as are the burgers

Kepshooto
Sushi Nation
Ottimo second location is supposed to open any day now on New Hampshire. It'll cater to the lunch clientele. Don't know if it'll have a different name.
Eat a Pita

Besides for "there are still some good people in the world", I believe r&s is the cheapest. Glatt bite is a good relatively inexpensive option with a nice Simcha room.

Best option for inexpensive sheva brachos catering? Either in-house or drop off...
There is some discussion of that beginning here:
Trying to figure out all options of places to make a Sheva Brachos in Lakewood. What am I missing? I don't want to deal with more than one person(Hall, caterer, waiters) I want a one stop shop.
Estreia
D-lux
Glatt Ambiance
Ottimo
Westgate Pizza Place
Circa
Does Yapchick still do private events?
Also, both Shloimy's and Simcha caterers have a "simcha in a box" option. I have recently done some research on this myself and some results are below:
Prime 95 $32pp+18% gratuity=$38 min 30
Glatt Bite $38 pp min 40
Dlux $37.50 pp min35
Yapchik $35 pp +250 min 40
Milchigs:
Pizza Place $35pp min 40 buffet style-pay for food minimum $450 plus I think $100 for room
Circa $30pp+80 min 45
Out to Lunch $35pp min 40
Ottimo $40pp min 30 or $35 pp min 40
Greenhouse Cafe $35pp min 30 Buffet $29.30 min 30
Kava $38pp min 30 Buffet $30 min 30

Glatt bite is always consistent food is solid
Entree is well priced and the food is always great
Bunn has some solid options the appetizers are good as are the burgers
Glatt bite=fast food
Entree=full on proper restaurant.
Bunn=still not sure, but amazing eggrolls.
Dlux is a slightly more expensive and not as good glatt bite.
Prime95 is a proper restaurant more expensive than Entree and arguably not as good
Sushi nation is amazing sushi and everything is buy 2 get 1 free, so pricing comes out good.
-

IMHO The two are diffent types. Prime 95 is a more upper class style of food but not lower quality of it while Entree is a lower style but a better job of it.

I can’t keep up with that place

Ottimo's new place on New Hampshire is called Caffoteria I think. Not sure if it's open yet.
-
Dlux is a slightly more expensive and much better than glatt bite.
In my experience. I know many people say otherwise. I just never had anything that wasn't mediocre in Glatt bite.

Estreia starts at 35 pp I think, less if you do 70+ people. They have a basement hall as well that is very nice

I am a huge fan of Sushi Nation, it's good sushi, extremely quick service (I call to make an order, and by the time I get there my order is usually ready), and the buy 2 get 1 free turns average prices into great prices.

That’s why I said most people. A very small percentage of people buying sushi in stores are buying 3 rolls.

I beg to differ, unless you are buying in a grocery store most people are buying more than 1 roll.

Most people that go to aisle 9 and buy sushi there are going because of the sushi and not the grocery. 90% of sushi sales in aisle 9 are less then 3 rolls.

IDK what happens in aisle 9, but any guy who sits down for a meal of sushi eats at least 3 rolls.

1) I doubt you have any basis for this statistic
2) you cant compare a grocery store that sells sushi (yes, even if you only go for the sushi) to a store that is exclusively sushi
-

A sushi place next to the largest BMG dorm and 2 of the largest batei medrash is not really the best basis for comparison.

No, those people eat 6 rolls. (I'm not talking about the big rolls, I'm talking about the simple small rolls that are usually $6-9)

My wife brought home 2 regular rolls for me the other night. I only ate 1

There’s been a rumor the The Loft was opening....

I feel sick after I eat more than 2 rolls. And I'm the same guy that gets 3-4 slices of pizza.

It's fantastic. It doesn't HAVE to be pre ordered but that significantly increases the chance of them having it available.

Same here.
Getting back to my point that 3 rolls is more then most people need at one time, making a buy 2 get 1 free a poor deal.

Yep even if technically your able to eat 3 rolls most ppl don’t do it mainly it’s not really a main dish /heavy to eat so much rice and raw fish ... price may be a factor as well

It makes a big difference when buying for an event. You get 3 platters for the price of 2.
-
It makes a big difference when buying for an event. You get 3 platters for the price of 2.
People can deff save money with this deal just saying it’s not useful for most people. Either way their basic platter of 6 rolls is $40 . Aisle 9 charges $30 iirc . That’s a savings of $10 when buying 3. Also in general these kind of sales only work out if you need exactly a multiple of 3. More often than not, your buying more or less then you need with these kind of promos... same goes with any buy one get one free etc... their the worst kind of promotions... they make you over buy or under buy. They control you ??!!

I went to Upper Crust (Kennedy) on Motze Shabbos.
Truffle fries - Was average (first time having truffle fries tho)
Funghi Pizza, Bianca sauce - Was great. Thin crust extremely tasty
Some other pizza with sunny side up, onions, olives etc on it - Great too.
Mexican avocado crisp salad - Also very good. Comes with 2 different dressings on the side for your taste.
Italian onion soup - Absolutely amazing.
Gelato - wasn’t my type, had a texture of marshmallow fluff so couldn’t go near it.
Triple layer chocolate mousse cake - A little misleading as it was a regular bakery cake. But had a good taste.
Overall experience was great. Would definitely come again.
It is extremely full on M Shabbos. I don’t know if they take reservations.

There is no way anyone considered the correct amount of parking needed for that strip mall. Assuming the stores will be busy. Once again Planning/zoning board specialty.

Officially there was an insane wait time at the restaurant. I’m happy for them. If it was really that busy on their first holiday I think it wi be a hot location.

I went monday morning. They clearly have some growing pains, but I think they will do well.
Was there around 10am, very empty, which is pretty normal for a weekday.
They had a soft launch menu, but not everything was available even on that.
What I ordered was delicious and came fairly fast, was presented very well.
I'll reserve judgment until they have a chance to officially open, but I was impressed overall.

I just went yesterday. It seems they're still figuring things out, because they somehow lost my order, and I overheard the same thing happen to 2 other people, but they did give me a free slice of cheesecake without me saying anything which made me feel like they actually care about their customers, and even with that we didn't wait more than 15-20 minutes for our food. Interesting setup with waiters but they don't ask for tips, and you pay at the register.

So how can I order? Drive to a part of Lakewood that they service and wait for my food there?

They’ve said that for the past year and a half that I’ve been using Uber Eats. Still, it seems they now deliver to my parents’ house, so I’ll get my food delivered there. Yay!!

Yes, Westgate works. Still very few restaurants but kosher is doing ok- I counted Eat-A-Pita, Snaps, and Revolve (same owner as Eat-A-Pita)
-
I spoke to a friend in the food business in Lakewood, he said it’s unpractical to join Uber eats as they take 30%. I wonder if most of the kosher establishment will avoid Uber eats for this reason.
-
I think its very popular in Miami though, so who knows..

It’s very popular in many places. I know they take around 30% but A) You don’t have to pay for delivery and B) Many people look at it as free marketing/sales- if they make a sale though the app, they lose 30%, but they wouldn’t have got the sale otherwise. They can capitalize on people’s Plat credits ;)
Also, although it’s officially against their rules, the last time i ordered from a restaurant through UberEats I noticed that it was more expensive on the app than their online menu- so apparently some people just raise their prices by 30% to compensate

DoorDash is active in Lakewood. I’ve done DoorDash from Eat a Pita. Maybe the employee was mixing that up with Uber Eats

No.
He was correct.
Eat A Pita is currently working with Uber Eats in some parts of Lakewood.

Not looking to turn this into a halacha thread, but would appreciate if someone would briefly explain how these deliveries (or any food deliveries) work.
I'm assuming the store puts the food in a bag and staples it closed, or throws some sort of sticker tape on the bag, which im assuming can be opened and closed easily. How do be take care of the issue of Bassur shnisalem?
Thanks

A) In general, I found that stores wrap it tightly in tape with the hechsher all over it, which needs to be ripped to get taken off (with the exception of a store that sent a cup of orange juice not wrapped, I called and they said I should just complain to Uber Eats and I got it refunded)
B) I believe any Siman which the driver can’t know about but you do suffices

Thanks

Thanks
Please do not rely on me for a psak, but there are many articles available online from the OU and Star K that discuss this

I'm not sure where it was, but recently @aygart and some others were discussing where elal gave pizza and there was a whole thread with your Q in the halacha thread.
Too bad @TimT is not around.

So, a bar in Westgate?

Any updates on UberEats? New areas, new restaurants?

I'm seeing:
Snaps
Eat a pita
Revolve
Sushi nation
Location-Near chestnut

I haven't been to Snaps in a while and decided to take the family there tonight. It was a really great meal! They keep adding to their menu and all the food looked great, tasted fresh and delicious.
A real treat was the meat pizza, we had the pulled brisket version and we loved it. Another interesting dish we tried was the Ramen Pho bowl, which was a huge portion, more like a soup, with meat and soft egg inside.
I would definitely recommend trying Snaps, especially if you haven't been there in a while, and we'll definitely be back.
The place was pretty full and I'm happy for them. Yussi the owner is a great guy, schmoozing with the customers...

They had a decent crowd but they couldn’t keep up because they had a terrible ordering process and were just plain slow. Bagel Nosh would have no line for the same amount of people.

Greenhouse Cafe $35pp min 30 Buffet $29.30 min 30

I understand entree is probably the best meat restaurant in town, but from their website it doesn’t seem like they’re open for lunch. Any other suggestions of a nice meat restaurant open for lunch? Need good food, I don’t like wasting my time & money on a place that’s not good. Not looking for a burger/fast food place. Deal is also an option.

IIRC, the Revolve is open earlier, but double check to make sure.

That’s a good way of describing entree food. Char-q is definitely more unique ingredients, now I just remembered I took a picture of the actual menu. Take a look at lamb riblets, includes pickled watermelon rind. Taylor hmm is a bunch of ingredients you’d never see on the entree menu. Most of what we ordered was new flavors and experiences for me.
