Title: Jiminy Peak
Post by: smurf on August 28, 2011, 11:54:33 AM
Anybody been to Jiminy Peak?
What are the accommodations like? Is there a lot to do there? We're planning a family trip there for the end of this week so any info on deals and things to do is greatly appreciated?

Once went extreme mountain biking down jiminy peak in the summer... almost killed myself. twice. Wouldn't recommend for kids (or adults for that matter).

Unfortunately, can't speak to the accommodations because we just made a day trip...

Both my brothers where there in the past and they both loved it.

I stayed in the wyndham bentley brook back when it was still run by fairfield it was very nice then. Theres plenty to do there including bobsledding on a track and ziplining. You can also check out mt greylock and its ~1 hr from albany which you can do on the way back down to new york

was there last week. very nice. jiminy peak resort has hotel rooms which are nice (i think they are all suites) as well as having villas which i didn't stay in so can't comment. there is a minyan on premises as well as a pizza/falafel shop run by the local chabad.

Personally I would say max two days, but yes it was very nice. If Albany interests you at all you can hang out there for a day. I think it's about 45 min away.

Any minyan around?
Starting July 27 till September 2/3 there will be_like last year, older bochurim running a canteen style Cafe at Jiminy peak for all the Jewish families that come by in the summer. I'm aware that there will be daily minyanim there at least throughout those dates.

P.s. The guys running it this year are good friends of mine.
