Re: Taharas Hamishpacha Article Discussion For The Married Folk...
Let it rip.  :)

Firstly, the article is complete nonsense. You cannot take an abnormal situation (a fourteen year old bride . . . I mean, seriously?) and try to infer a principle from there.

Secondly, the whole piece about it being obligatory when both husband and wife don't want to that night. Totally false.

Thirdly, the laws of family purity are not meant to be convenient or easy. They force couples to connect in ways other that physical touch, and most couples who are committed to keeping the laws, discover the beauty in them.

Sure, they are difficult. They can create challenges. Children can also create challenges in marriage, but no one gives them up just because of that.

Re: wish.com: Spot it! for $8 and UNO for $3 SHIPPED! You have to read reviews carefully on wish.com. They're often very informative about the true size and quality of the item.

But he did engage JJ, and that's because my concern is legitimate.

Aren't you the one who wrote "There are a few types of deals and disclaimers we add when it's borderline.." - In that spirit, this is borderline leaning over the border.

Re: Best Spending Practices for People that Lack Discipline.
I'd like to discuss a topic that is sensitive to me, and perhaps others here, hence the new account.

Iíd like to see thoughts, ideas, and advice on the topic of - best spending practices for people that lack discipline.

What I mean exactly, is that SOME people end up spending too much money on credit cards because they lack discipline and/or donít feel the money coming out of their bank account. Personally, I am trying to build up some savings, and I have been unsuccessfully trying to reel in my wifeís CC spending. BH we are not in debt.

I would love to see ideas on credit cards that have hard limits that work well, debit cards that offer points or whatever suggestions and any advice you may have for people struggling with overspending. I'm not ready to go all cash, and I would think there's some good ways to reap the benefits of credit cards (like points, return protection, and disputes) while controlling spending.

Thoughts?

Can you buy GC's with CCs and give those to your wife to spend?

Re: Off Brand Doona for Less? One step further.. car seat safety is a huge deal. I wouldn't risk compromising on that for any amount saved by buying an off brand or aliexpress model, which may not have the same levels of safety testing.

Re: How many sheitals does your wife have?
5 in <5 years, but one we resold, so I'd say we've had 4.
Only 1 has fallen apart (was a $300 one).

Seems like we're on pace with some people and far behind/worse than others. Don't have any >$2k but I wouldn't say that explains it because again only a $300 one has gone to trash. The rest are still great.
"we"? are you wearing them too?

Re: How many sheitals does your wife have?
Well, in a professional setting, you usually have air conditioning so the heat and humidity shouldn't play that much of an impact. And perhaps the WW isn't overrated when you can wear it to work, at a job that requires hair to be pulled back, and that often requires actual running around / sweating.
If my job required running around and sweating, I'd get a new job before I'd get a new wig.

Re: Simplife Digital Infrared Forehead & Ear Thermometer $6
I'll take the chance for $6. Needed one anyways.
Trust me, these aren't worth $6. I got one (not this exact brand, but a similarly unknown off-brand) for free for a review and it now registers our forehead temps somewhere in the 70's.

What's your favorite cholent recipe?
Cheek meat in your cholent is life changing. Other than that, I just add salt, pepper, garlic, and paprika.
