Re: City Bike: May is Bike Month - Join Now to Save $25! 🚲 FYI I think that any oxhp plan that renewed after November '16 allows citibike to be reimbursed instead of gym membership. Can't beat free!

Re: Take Back Lakewood
How much does/did he have invested in downtown. He was not about getting rid of special interests rather about replacing the current ones with his. He also very quickly became, or always was, bitter and personal. He was never ready to go with the nuance needed to actually change things. The local politics needs to be nuanced because most respect the yeshiva and even some of their politics in what they do for the klal in some things but disrespect other aspects. Once he lost that nuance and aligned himself with those who malign EVERYTHING about the frum community like Joyce Blay there was no way he would be able to get enough popular support.

A great case in point was Langert. He was originally not a vaad candidate and was cetainly never a minion of theirs, but there became a very personal feud between him and HH. He ended up without the support of the vaad or of the others. He could have possibly brought reform without HH's personal vendetta.

You're overdoing it. Had he surfaced in the year of Trump, he would have been very successful. It was extremely unpopular to be anti establishment and you must give him credit for planting that seed. The timing was a bigger issue than the guy.

Re: FBI Raids Orthodox Homes and Businesses in Monsey and KJ
They did, but it was too late. The FBI already had them in the crosshairs and once they do they never let go. (unless your name is Hillary Clinton)
It's like hitting the brakes when the cop saw you speeding. Rarely helps.

I think that we need more community awareness that govt programs is playing with fire. Don't think any of these guys are malicious just blissfully ignorant of the consequences.

Re: FBI Raids Orthodox Homes and Businesses in Monsey and KJ
DH's statement - besides being a moronic thing to publicize - is pure BS.  Were these families living with 6 children per bedroom sleeping on mattresses on the floor?  Were they sharing a box of pasta for dinner every night?  No, they weren't.  They wanted their cake and to eat it too.  Pure greed and/or entitlement.
I can guarantee every one of these families started taking programs when they were 100% eligible. Once you're hooked to this free money faucet, it's very difficult to stop. Almost like substance addiction, people who were recently poor have a hard time parting with their survival mindset. If we can assign some medical diagnosis to this, maybe the feds would respect their rights. If a man can feel like a girl, a prince can feel like a pauper. 🌈

+1000000 as I have written above. Even if the end result is an acquittal you do not want to go through the process of needing Dan to argue this for you in court.
