Re: Interesting Articles...
For all you know, that could be the future of private air travel.
Instead of purchasing a full aircraft individuals can have their own personalized modules easily swapped in to the more expensive body.

Right... they're going to reconfigure your private jet as a gym because for this flight you're in the mood of a workout. For the return you'll be in the mood for swimming, so they'll install the swimming pool module, and for your next flight you'll be in the mood for bowling, so they'll slide the pool out and install the bowling alley in instead. Sounds very plausible to me.

Is this the start of a trend where we will see newlyweds/young couples living in 5 bedroom 3 bathroom homes?

If they can afford it it'll leave them a lot of room to grow.

NYC new area code: 332 Just found out about area code 332 when I got a text from T-Mo alerting me to the new area code overlaying 212/917/646. 332 has barely made it to Wikipedia.
Amazing how these area codes keep filling up.

Any opportunities to get a designer 332 number?

That can't be answered without knowing what the average parent actually pays and how the school chooses to spend its money.

Part of the problem is that schools (read: administrators) choose how to spend the money with very little transparency or oversight...

For $5 a kid can get a quick high that can addict forever....

Maybe part of the solution is to go after those who make these substances so easily accessible.

Re: Silent Killer
If these addictions or chemical imbalance issues are seen as broken arms that need a cast or strep throat that needs antibiotics, then they have the chance to be treated and healed. We can also teach how to prevent more of this just like we know what needs to be done to lower the risks and prevent strep/broken bones (when possible). Parents and balanced stable are key, as well. The leaders can promote it and make it a priority if/when they promote this education publicly.

I'm not sure how you're replying to what your quoted. All I said was that even if it happened (Ch"V) in their own families it's possible these leaders wouldn't change their stance.

Most addictions are borne out of character defects which come from something in the past.

I don't think trauma, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, or PTSD (to name a few) are character defects.

Re: Re: PSA: Don't swipe recklessly for others
You make a mistake (albeit one that is not uncommon): you conflate breach of contract with breach of the law.

Breaching a contract is not unlawful, it simply subjects you to whatever liability you contractually agreed to incur (whether expressly or otherwise).  By way of example, if I agree to sell you 100 widgets at $100 per piece, but then I find another buyer at $1,000 per piece, I can -- not unlawfully -- choose to not sell to you, with the knowledge and understanding that I am subjecting myself to certain liability to you (which will vary by contract).  I will not become a suspect in a criminal investigation simply because I decided to not sell to you.

In short, one can remain a "very lovely great" person even if they decide to breach a contract.

[This is not to be construed as legal advice, for which you should seek a competent attorney.]

So it's not illegal, but isn't it unethical? From a layman's perspective I'd suppose the contract signifies both parties' intent to move forward with the transaction. The liability stated in the contract, for when each of the parties breach their side of the agreement, is their exposure were they to renege on the agreement, and the extent to which the other party can seek recourse.

I wouldn't assume that ethically I'm 100% entitled to breach contract unilaterally and tell the other party to "sue me!".

I'm interested in visual/infographic Daf Yomi content. Not so much a video Share that uses slides. I'm specifically looking for slides/PDFs and the like.

Also interested in content/shiurim that discuss words, taxonomy, etymology etc of Gemara/Daf Yomi.

Thanks!

Re: Dimeththyltryptamine (DMT) & Halacha 1. Why do I get the feeling that OP had a Taavah and is trying to use Avodas Hashem as an excuse to justify it?

2. While there might very well be therapeutic affects to psychedelics, that is only applicable to treat certain conditions. There are numerous examples of medical treatments that could kill a healthy person (RĒL) but are used to treat terminal illnesses. A distant correlary of this would be (lehavdil) Mei Chatas used to purify someone who is Tmei Meis, it purifies the impure and makes Tamei the pure. What Iím saying is that while LSD might help someone whoís addicted to Opiates, that doesnít mean it has any therapeutic benefit to a healthy person and might very well be detrimental.

3. OP has a username that seems to have been created specifically for this thread, in an agenda driven way. Two additional posts in this thread, are from other first time posters who are supposedly subject matter experts on the topic writing in support of the OP. Highly suspicious in my eyes.

Nada. But some people with much more serious symptoms havenít had high fever. My cough is dry and my throat is somewhat dry as well.

A close colleague of mine is unwell with clear COVID-19 symptoms, BezĒh heíll feel better soon. I havenít been around him for over a week.

Iím staying home with my family, and the few times Iíve gone out I havenít been within 6 feet of others and/or wearing a mask. Other than becoming a statistic, I donít really see the point in getting tested at this point.

Re: COVID-19 (Wuhan Novel Coronavirus) Pandemic Master Thread
https://www.unacast.com/covid19/social-distancing-scoreboard

Cool, Iíve actually wondered where I can see this data. Good to see things are down.

If I walk around within my house or yard, does that count as distance? Or does it go by the furthest distance Iíve gone.

Numbers are skewed because areas with low population density (e.g. Alaska, rural counties in NY state) will show worse numbers because the local Walmart is many miles away. Meanwhile in reality the people there might be more socially distant than people in densely populated areas.

Methinks there are two factors: The first is social distancing, meaning staying more than six feet away from people you donít live with. The second is not to travel far from home unless itís essential.

Thereís some overlap but theyíre two separate things in my eyes.

Re: COVID-19 (Wuhan Novel Coronavirus) Pandemic Master Thread
At this point it doesnít really matter. Just do whatever is needed to get people in beds and save lives. Need to learn from our mistakes. We wanted a perfect test kit while other countries were happy to use something that was good enough. No need to elaborate how well that worked out.

People who need their lives saved might be better off with a respirator at home than in a tent with a nurse that doesnít have the equipment necessary to monitor them and save their life.
