Re: Thoughts on abortion, religion, and morality
Being anti Plan B is a purely Christian idea.

Huh? The idea that sex and procreation should not be disassociated is definitely a Jewish idea.

Unless you meant to say that considering Plan B as abortion is a Christian idea.

Re: AN URGENT APPEAL TO THE NY YESHIVA COMMUNITY The states only interest in education is in ensuring that kids get the knowledge and skills required to be functioning adults in society. To do this, they should look at results.

The elephant in the room is the fact that they can't do that because it would serve as an indictment of the public school system that's failing in it's basic mandate.

Mandating that yeshivas offer substantially equivalent secular studies is a way of dealing with it. They think length of time spent in instruction is the best way to do that.

The substantially equivalency standard has been the law for a long time. The state tried to claim that these guidelines are just a clarification on the definition if "substantially equivalent" and the court rejected that argument.

The problems are of enforcement and these rules don't fix that

Re: Jokes Master Thread

Back in the day when Jews were still poor, when a bochur in the dorm was going on a date, his chevra would offer to lend him new clothes in order to make a good first impression. Moshe was about to go on a date, and while he was getting ready, Dovid insisted that he wear his new tie. Moshe comes back from the date, and Dovid asks him how it went. "It was okay," Moshe responded, " I think we might go on a second date". "More importantly, " asked Dovid, " did she say anything about my tie?". "As a matter of fact, she did", said Moshe, " she said, I don't like that tie on you, nor did I like it on the last 3 of your friends that I dated."

The version I heard was that she returned a button that fell of of the suit when the last guy wore it.

I agree with most of this, but I'm pretty sure the investigation was biased, and I'm not sure that the report wasn't.

The assumption that it was an unbiased investigation was based on Mueller's reputation. If (as it seems from his testimony) he was not running the show, what indication is there that the investigation was unbiased?

Re: "כאלה"
Not a single person even muttered a hint of a "כאלה" where I davened.

That's because the type of people that would do it are the same type of people that don't know that it's in Parshas Pinchas...

Re: PC friday question of the day.
Do you brush your teeth with warm or cold water.

Had a heated argument about this recently, neither side able to understand the others position. Reminded me a lot of the politics thread.

Shouldn't you be using toothpaste to brush your teeth?

Can a WB disclose classified information?

Only through proper channels (which is what makes them a whistle-blower). If they leak classified info they are criminals.
