IMO the unions should not be required to provide the benefits to non members (some benefits can't be split like salary and benefits, but others can like legal defense). The issue I have with the way it was before this ruling is that the government compels the union to serve non members, and therefore the union has a compelling argument that the non members should pay too. What the unions should do now is fight that they should not be required to represent non members.

You don't seem to understand it is a given the workers will get screwed.Then the worker will find a boss who will treat him better. The employees most protected by unions are bad employees who don't do their work well, and should be fired but union regulations protect them from being fired. Good employees will find good jobs under an employer who is willing to pay them well and treat them well, instead we're all stuck paying the extra costs for employees who don't do their job well. Anyone who is anti vaccines who says "bring it on" to measles is clearly too uneducated and should be vaccinated IMO.The most compelling reason to vaccinate for measles is to protect those with compromised immune systems. That being said, if someone doesn't want to vaccinate they should at least get the measles in a controlled setting and stay at home until they're no longer contagious rather than go out and pass it on. In order for everyone to be protected (including those who are unable to get vaccinated and the 3% who are not immune even after being vaccinated) you need herd immunity which is achieved when the odds of passing on a virus are lower than the odds of contacting someone who is susceptible If 1 in 20 people are not immune, and the average person only comes in contact with 19 people then an outbreak is impossible. If 1 in 10 is susceptible, that means that every infected person will pass it on to 2 people (on average) and that leaves you with an outbreak.
