Re: EL AL
So did they reach out to Dan or not?
Good question.
But in any event, the main priority right now is to manage the workforce, and especially the relationship with the pilots. Cost-cutting and workforce optimization is make or break at this point.

If the new owner manages it properly, then there is plenty of room to turn this airline around, IMHO, otherwise it's not worth wasting Dan's time

Re: Ex-TLV Routes and Flights Discussions
Will actually be a game changer for Muslim Hajj and Umrah.
Currently the route from Israel is often, a bus/taxi over one of the Jordanian border crossings then another very long bus ride or flight from Jordan to KSA.
Yes. That's something that former minister Ayoob Kara has been talking about for years.

Already back in 2017 he mentioned potential seasonal direct flights to KSA for Hajj

And in November 2019 he was already talking about Israelis being able to visit Gulf states shortly

Re: NY Koen group to buy Israir
But then OTOH from what I hear Eilat is stuck several decades behind Aqaba in what it has to offer. (And is pricier).
Eilat is garbage.
But there is a market for it and many Israelis can't be bothered to go elsewhere

Re: EL AL
At long last, appointment of new board (members) expected today. Will this be a dawn of a new era for LY?

Ive met Brodet a few times. I think he's the best person for the job. Put differently, if he doesn't manage to solve the current HR / culture issues within LY, no one else will, IMHO  :)

Many ppl argue that this type of events, while rare, mostly happen on LY flights
