Re: Traffic Tickets
You're a Good Samaritan ;)
Seriously though that's a very nice thing to do.
I used to put coins in people's meters, so this is definitely cheaper. I used to get constant arrest threats for "obstruction of justice".

Re: Newborn baby girl in New York life insurance deal!
Honestly, yes.

I didn't phrase it as I wanted to, because I thought it sounded harsh, but: They seem to be on top of their game and actually professional. But what's with the name? It makes it sound like a scam. This isn't a Chasuna Plan. This is a whole life policy that is a price mistake that consumer protection laws force the company to keep active.
They are marketing it as a chasuna plan. The people that they are getting it for aren't looking for a whole life insurance with a cash value that is priced mistakenly, they are looking for a chasuna savings plan. Hence, the name they chose makes perfect sense, while yours wouldn't. If you ever go into marketing, piece of advice; label things by what the people you are selling to are looking for.

Re: Great DDF One-Liners

 >:( Beat me to it, after I searched the thread!

Reminds me of a trick a veteran on the FT Trick-It thread once gave a noob how to find an effective 3x:

First you use your credit card to book the most expensive and luxurious first-class ticket out there. Then for the 3x, you book a one way ticket to some third world jungle. You take the first class journey, which will be the dream trip of a lifetime. Then you don't pay the credit card bill. This only works because of your 3x:  you take the flight to the third world country and never come back. 100% success rate.

Re: Going/Gone through 11 Months at the Amud? (All others proceed with caution...)
I'm going to proceed with caution here. When I was in yeshiva with only ten guys, I was forced to daven three times a week, but since only a few people actually gave in and davened at the amud, I was stuck davening probably 1/5 times. Obviously that has nothing on an uvel, but davening for the umud when you are forced to is annoying but most of the time I found ot nice that I could control the speed somewhat (an no one could complain, because they had a choice to daven and they rejected it).
That's the key. You were doing them a favor by davening. When you're an avel, every person who shows up thinks that it's his minyan and he's doing you a favor by letting you daven, so you better be exactly to his liking.

(I'm not speaking from experience, blay'h, but that's what it looks like to me and how chiyuvim have expressed their frustrations. Obviously most people aren't like that, but too many minyanim have one (or a bunch) too many.)

Re: Chase Sapphire Reserve
My 18yo son was declined.
Used 100K income and no  housing payments; he is student.
Initial reason for denial was 5/24, but explained that most of those are AU and he only has 2 of his own cards. The reconsidered, then said credit history is too brief (less than 6 months), esp. given the 10k CL for this card.
Spoke to "customer resolution", who re-evaluated and said same thing.
I asked if he could make the application for CSP but said would need to reapply online, but no guarantee, even though it's lower CL, because the short credit history is a problem.
What's my son's best next move?
1. Walk away?
2. Apply for CSP?
3. Apply for Freedom?

And if best step is to apply, how long does he have so that the credit pulls can be merged? 24hours?

Thanks for any/all advice.
Why is he over 5/24 with AUs but less than 6 months history? Nothing backdated, or they ignored them?

BTW, it's illegal to put down household income for an applicant under 21, if you care.

Re: looking to buy one order of 4 coins from todays mint
So many false things in this statement...
1. Nobody knew it was going to pop like this.
2. I always send reminder emails.
3. My offer wasn't a low ball offer at all.  Anybody that took this deal in dansdeals made more money than I did on that transaction.  That's a fact.
4. I didn't make a fortune on these.  I locked in predeal just like my members,  at which time the market price was way lower.
5. Read my terms clearly,  I warned that the price afterwards is unknown and that I cannot afford to be a backstop for ppl
Interesting coincidence that of all the deals, this was the time that you payed the forum owners to shut up the competition before a presale bidding war could ensue.

Re: Chase Sapphire Reserve
So basically it's not enough just to get CPC, you have to be ready to nudge your CPC banker to push through a measly credit card app.. (After all your tales of transferring a million next week ;)
The CPC bankers usually aren't rolling in the dough themselves. Retail banking sucks. They get almost as excited for a couple of bank accounts as we do for a credit card.

Re: Amex Platinum Master Thread
No disrespect to you but some people are so greedy. You got 100k points, you got a $200 airline fee reimbursement and will get another $200 on Jan 1, plus free global entry why dont you just leave the card open until next year and then downgrade it.

/end rant

not really most ccs that have big AFs give the credits so I take the 2 credits and cancel after the year. All others are mostly free in year 1
They give you the bonus so you should keep the card, not just double dip the credits and run. Canceling after the first year is greedy too. You can draw the line where you want to, but I wouldn't get all self righteous.

i am at prob 6/24

should i apply?
Sure. BTW, make sure that you're pre approved, not just pre qualified. Ask them what your APR rate will be. If they give you a range, you're prequalified. If they give an exact rate, you're pre approved.

Same 10% unless your registered as business then its 6% i think.
So $575 -12.9%+$0.30 is $10.58 profit before shipping, and shipping with insurance will cost you more than that. Sounds like a money loser to me.

sorry for asking, im sure it was answered in this thread but i cant find it.

is there any way to figure out the card`s number and expiration before actually getting it?

was approved Friday and can make a big spending today.
If you send them an SM, the card number will be in the subject line. The expiration is 9/19. The CVV is gonna be the hard part.

Re: Public letter
If your dog has fluid coming out of its eyes, you might assume that the animal is crying. However, it's important for pet owners to note that dogs cannot cry in the way that humans do. If a dog's eyes are discharging liquid, it is because something is wrong, not because the animal is overcome with emotion.
You bigot. You assume she's still a dog just because he once was one.

Re: Selling Bose wireless QC35
This only time MR are worth more than $.01/point are when you're redeeming them...if they are sitting in your account with no intention of flying or staying in hotels then they are worth $.01/point.

My point is not advocating an optimal redemption, but for those with no future travel plans and looking to cut costs around the holidays, this is an option that's available.
