Re: Starbucks: $10 Bonus Giftcard When You Reload $10 With Visa Checkout I just went through the process of reloading my card to make sure that I remembered how and there's only a "Add card with visa checkout" option - no actual pay with visa checkout. Wonder if the link you visit in step one activates that option or something.

Re: Free Sample Products Master Thread
What's this?

I'm going with the "if I don't know what it is for then I don't need it" approach.

Re: Amazon
You need to realize that when looking at a thread titled "Amazon" people cannot see whether it is for shoes, diapers, computers, kitchen knives, chocolate chips, comic books etc etc sold by Amazon, something to do with dealing with Amazon CS, or a flight to the Amazon.

Personally, I thought I was buying a piece of land in the Amazon at a hot price. You can imagine my disappointment when I realized it was shoes  ;D

Re: Excel Problem Try:
Code: [Select]
=CONCAT(text(LEFT(L13, SEARCH(" ",L13,1))+TIME(0,5,0),"H:MM AM/PM")," - ", text(RIGHT(L13, SEARCH(" ",L13,1)+2)+TIME(0,5,0),"H:MM AM/PM"))
The Text function before the left and right (and the H:MM AM/PM) formatting after the decimal number will force the decimal to the time that it represents, I think

Of course, but that would be the as much work as not using a formula  ;)

I've gotten it theory but it gives the result in decimal format, not as H:MM PM

In cell L13 I have 6:55 - 7:00 PM, and I managed to make this formula

Code: [Select]
=CONCAT(LEFT(L13, SEARCH(" ",L13,1))+TIME(0,5,0)," - ", RIGHT(L13, SEARCH(" ",L13,1)+2)+TIME(0,5,0))
which essentially finds the 2 times, adds 5 to each and then joins them with the "-" but the result is in decimal format like this: 0.291666666666667 - 0.795138888888889 even after I change the cell type to time it has no affect

Wasn't sure I had everything in the right place but this will work.
Code: [Select]
=CONCATENATE(TEXT(LEFT(L13, SEARCH(" ",L13,1))+TIME(0,5,0),"H:MM")," - ", TEXT(RIGHT(L13, SEARCH(" ",L13,1)+2)+TIME(0,5,0),"H:MM AM/PM"))

Re: Looking for a Nice and Cheap Getaway
My wife and I are in dire need of a vacation, the best time for us is in August after Tisha B'av. I'd like to go somewhere nice but inexpensive, not looking to spend much money and I don't have lots of points (~80k UR, ~47k SPG, ~75k Thank You Points - is that even worth anything for travel???). As far as I'm concerned it can be anywhere that isn't in the Tri-State area (domestic or international), and we should be able to blow off some steam for 7-10 days, nothing fancy. Any ideas?

Have you been to Toronto? My fiance and I are planning a trip there later this month and it seems to be a fairly causal vacation atmosphere. Dan has a couple of trip reports and I'll hopefully have one soon following the end of the month.

Re: Excel Help and Problems I'd use this:

And linkedin learning if you have access. Once you have a basic idea of what can be done, start throwing together spreadsheets? Do you have a household budget? Stick it in excel and then google anything you want to do that you didn't previously learn.

Re: Double take on Amazon...
I think I'm up 3 iPads (about $1000 worth). Its really not fair to these companies. If I'm missing an item i call and tell them and they (must) send a new one. But if i get an extra one i dont need to send it back.

I assure you the companies (esp.the amazons & apples) of the world are doing alright.
