Re: Pesach Program in Greece Cancelled Just Now! Just going to put this out there:

I am now married with kids but back in the days when i was single i used to work as a mashgiach in hotels. I worked in one program which was not very fancy for a few years and that program was superb with no issues. Later i worked in a program which was definitely on the fancier side. This program didn't care at all about kashrus, all they cared about was how happy were the guests. Non-Jewish workers would bring pizza and donuts into the kitchen (yes you read right) and no one cared at all. When i mentioned it to the head mashgiach he was too scared of the caterer and the kitchen staff and it all continued. Kashrus was not at all a priority.

I emailed the owners of the program at the time, but i'm sure nothing was done about it and the program probably still runs the same way. So if you are in a hotel program be aware there is a good chance you had a good time while eating pure chometz.

Re: Please (Make and) Post your Kiddush Hashem-Honesty Story I was in H&M the other day returning a item that costed me about $40. The cashier who did the return was obviously new and mistakenly refunded me the original price of $70. Instead of walking away with the extra funds on my cc, i pointed out his mistake.

He was very grateful and surprised.

Re: Prison
Contrary to popular belief likes do not feed my family, yet
Honestly your writing is very impressive, you should consider making this collection of thoughts into a book or maybe a article.
I always knew prison / jail was bad, but your vivid descriptions give it a much more real meaning.

Re: Why do so many people still support the Mir? Don't know much about the mir today in comparison to the past, but wow this post screams lashon hara.

Why would someone be distraught because people contribute to a Yeshiva?

Top Reasons To Stay On The Derech We should have a thread "Top reasons to stay On The Derech.."
For me it would have to be shabbos.
In todays day and age anyone who experiences shabbos gets a unbelievable vacation from all mind noise  once every week.
When i wake up Thursday morning and realize shabbos is only 2 days away I'm in a super happy mood just thinking about it. No I'm no big frummy i just live in a fast paced tech / projects / life craziness and shabbos is so such a great experience.

P.S My friend once told me "well you dont know how it is not to keep Shabbos" to which i responded: I do i experience it every Sunday, and it sucks.

Re: PSA: SCAM ALERT: People "helping" with unemployment can be scammers!
I just received a voice note forward that's been circulating on Whatsapp (thank you to the ddfer who sent it to me) from a guy who identifies himself as the one who put out the original warning (although he's not the same guy I heard the warning from) saying that the boss of the agency personally called him to apologize that one of his employees had been rude and refused to hand over his login and debit card information, and that's not how they operate and he'll ensure that he has all his funds shortly.

I don't know if this is a legitimate mix up (personally for me the questions still stand. Why do they create login information without sharing it with the client, why do they change the debit card mailing address to something other than what's provided by the client, etc), or if they decided to save face and pocket 3k per client if they can't get the full 17k...

Regardless, please don't share SSN and other sensitive information with strangers. I know it's confusing to file a claim yourself but is it worth the potential pitfalls?
So he's apologizing for his employee scamming the customer instead of the intended plan of scamming the government... Not sure if this should make one laugh or cry..  :o
