Re: FBI Raids Orthodox Homes and Businesses in Monsey and KJ
So give us some ideas of how to get starting salaries of 100k. As soon as enough people start going that route it will drop significantly.
Salaries of 100k are not even enough to live a comfortable lifestyle in the frum world with a nice amount of kids.

Re: Best Spending Practices for People that Lack Discipline.
Bottom line is that if you put $100-200 per month into a well diversified fund, you will retire a millionaire with nearly 100% probability.
Gotta love compound interest :) Dunno why there aren't more millionaire's around.

Re: US Politics/2016 Election Pick Your Poison Master Thread
Now the meeting itself has now legitimized NK on the world stage. Seeing the US flag intertwined with the NK flag for a photo op was disgusting.

Re: El Al vs Aeroflot Hey as crazy as it sounds; I would rather Aeroflot probably. Just flew both, though to be fair the Aeroflot was in comfort (which was still cheaper than Elal Y...)

What difference does it make at this point?
No difference.
Since when does it have to make a difference to argue here :P

Re: Manhattan Kosher Restaurants
OU in restaurants hands down better than any other hashgacha.
feel free to attack me. this is from many many people in the restaurant and kashrus industries
Did they say that it's the best hashgacha in terms of chumros? Or in terms of reliability? There's a big difference.
Fwiu the OU is a really reliable hechsher but they don't have the chumros that lots of other hechsheirim do have. Cmiiw.

Re: Marriott Certs Sale
Run up a tab charged to what?
Charged to the room. Now, hotels ask for credit card when checking in, but sometimes they forget or charge he one that's on file by mistake. I once had that my card was charged $200 but the buyer reimbursed me right away.

Re: The Future of Lakewood Walkable to the bus station, lol did they make a study how many tenants are ever going to use that bus station?!
What does it mean by 64 trips in the morning and 74 in the afternoon? Is that an engineering study in Lakewood? I would guess there’s at least 100-125 trips in the morning for every 99 apartments in Lakewood.

Re: Bike deal request and advice
This is my youngest son. He is small for his age, currently about 5'. The salesman recommended what he called an Adult Small (he didn''t want to specify e.g. 24" because he said each bike is built differently), which he said would last him until about 5' 7" by adjusting the seat as @MoYS mentioned, which should be a good 3-5 years.

The salesman did also mention that he does much more maintenance on kids' bikes than adult bikes, because kids tent not to take such good care of their bikes, which is another reason I was inclined to try to go cheaper. Any recommendations of decently-made bikes for a reasonable price from a big-box store?

The salesman said they charge $80 just to assemble a bike, which eats into a lot of the savings, though don't some stores include assembly when you buy from them? Unfortunately I'm not the least bit handy, and my son is better than me, but I don't know that it's realistic for him to do high-level bike maintenance.
I got a cheaper bike (sub $100), I believe it was Kent, when I was about 12 from Walmart. Worked perfectly for a few years of riding until it was stolen. Mongoose was an even better brand back then. Was assembled in Walmart free of charge, but don’t know about today.
For basic riding (non professional) that’s what all my friends and classmates had then, and was perfect for all of us. I don’t see why you would spend 3-$500 on a bike that your kid will grow out of within a few years. Unless you have the money for such luxuries obviously.
