Re: Take Back Lakewood
Obviously that would be an extreme position..

I'm just pointing out there can be a different perspective..

I don't know when you moved to Lakewood but chances are you (or many others who are complaining) were attracted here by its very explosive growth and the "in town" amenities that accompany as a result...

Now that you (again, I don't mean you on a personal level) have already piggybacked onto the train and have your daled amos- you can turn around and say this has to stop! We must return to the quiet Lakewood of old! To the people still looking to settle in Lakewood for whatever reason- as you already have- your generous invitation to move to Jackson or Toms River is not that welcome to say the least..

When Lakewood has become the equivalent of a curse word in NJ, I think it is pretty much a universally excepted fact, that all non biased individuals would agree with that it is overcrowded. When someone happened to move to Lakewood, is inconsequential, I happened to have moved here 20 years ago, my wife's family has been here for 2 generations. Whether it became overcrowded 10 years ago, or 5 years ago is a mute point. The fact is, it is overcrowded now.

The point you try to make about people being homeless is disingenuous. Most of the large developments being built in the last few years were pre-sold to groups from NY,. Incidentally, the real change, to market developments exclusively to people from NY, is a relatively new phenomenon.

As far as moving to Toms River or NJ, for most young couples, that is their first choice right now. I would move there tomorrow, if not for the fact that my children are older and most of the people living there are younger couples with younger children. If you really want to live in Lakewood, there are plenty of homes for sale. I suspect there will  be a lot more in the future as the quality of life continues to deteriorate and more people move to neighboring towns.

This is the new world we live in where Turx and takebacklakewood represent the frum world no daas torah and no seichel. It' s mamash a free for all HASHEM YERACHEIM

the words Daas Torah are thrown around like candy at an Auf Ruf. There are very few people that have Daas Torah. I am more concerned that the largest Yeshivah in the U.S. is being run without Daas Torah.

The fb pages quote sites like hefkervelt, tbl and others all the time.. they quote comments from these sites as well. There are people out there that follow these blogs closer than most regular readers.. whoever posts something online its as if they are feeding it directly to the anti-lakewood fb pages and media.

None of those Facebook pages would exist if not for the mess that our "Dear Leaders" made of Lakewood.

Re: Take Back Lakewood Anyone know why the Pro-Density lobby, including TLS has decided to wage outright war against the seniors. Aside for the obvious stupidity of stirring up machlokes, don't they realize that senior communities lower the taxes for everyone else, or do they just not care

Singer is a problem, but this Cores candidate is not the solution. she posts a lot on NJ.com and APP comment section. She is on board with every slander and false accusation against Lakewood and Orthodox Jews. (Jews don't pay taxes, jews don't get marriage license, the school board steals funds for private schools etc.)

From my limited interactions with him, one must be certifiably insane to vote for him. I'll stop at that.

I deleted a few comments last night that nobody saw that had a chashash l"h.

Well, coming from Moshe123, that sure means a lot. The fact is that with the incumbets, we know what we are getting, and it is very bad for the residents of Lakewood. On top of all the congestion, a housing crash is coming to Lakewood. Prices in Lakewood have been stagnant for the past year, while the property values in the Frum neighborhoods in Jackson and TR have been skyrocketing. the Real Estate tax rate in Lakewood is 30% higher than in TR or Jackson. All you need for the perfect storm to hit Lakewood is for interest rates to rise, and you could be looking at a 30-40% drop in property values (won't be the first time it happened).

I get the claim that chassidim moving in will increase property values, but right now, they are primarily moving into their own developments. It will take a while for that to have any impact on existing homes.

Why do you have to be a paranoid hard leftist, do dislike a boy king with the intellect of a rock?

I am assuming you translated this from Yiddish with Google Translate.

Re: Take Back Lakewood
You're more than welcome to do so. But it might be smarter to at least write in someone that had a fraction of a chance to win who's an intelligent guy who we might disagree with on one particular point. The oped isn't laced with hate that he must be avoided at all costs.

The article was inherently biased against Frum people. Calling into question the legitimacy of Jewish Schools, when there is no doubt that the average graduate of these schools is far ahead of the average graduate of Lakewood Public Schools.

He was a bad choice, Mickey Mouse is better.
