Re: Sonata anyone? The sport 2.4 msrp is 24500 lowest.

2700 dealer discount or your best deal
4000 hyundai rebate
750 for taking their loan which you refinance
1000 for an Uber driver. You don't have to drive and it is fairly easy to become one.
500 for match. needs 30 day advance.
500 for belonging to certain credit unions or insurance.

Deal is better for sport 2.0 which has 6000 rebate. It will cost somewhat more than 15k maybe 16k but you get a better car.

Re: Looking for Iphone 6 unlocked
Right, that's the one I saw. Was looking into unlocking, but you really need to read into it and i'm sure someone here has experience that can actually help.

Apple actually speaks about it on their website but they say to ask the carrier, lol

at $199 it is amazing price, on sale walmart BF for $129. if it can be unlocked would be great

Amex not covering taxes on Israel rentals?  Amex started covering rentals in Israel in September

See this post

I submitted a claim for car rental damage in Israel with Amex. The car rental companies here charge 17% VAT for damages, and now Amex claim they only cover the damage but not the taxes. I never had such an issue with chase. Did anyone have a similar situation? Is there anything I can do about it?

I checked my T&C and they exclude taxes on repairs , unless required by law to cover them. I assume in the US they do cover taxes, but seems in Israel they won't? If correct, why use Amex to rent?

Re: Help - Change Flight Date Due to Medical Emergency OP here with an update, maybe it will help someone else

Had the credit in United for next flight (minus $450 change fee). I applied for a refund of the $450 due to the situation. Attached  documentation. The next day there is a note from United that they are refunding the entire cost to my credit card. Essentially I traded the biz plat points for cash at 2cents each.

It may have helped that i emailed while logged into my premier account and that i have a lot of flights booked upcoming. (even though the passenger wasnt me)

It still is not a rebooking which I wanted and will cost current fares and very high, but it is satisfactory enough.

Re: Airline Compensation Master Thread
Hi Everyone..pls tell me what you think of this. My family flew from EWR-FRA-TLV  on UNITED (ewr-fra) . All 4 of us flew Polaris using GPU's.  1)After confirming 3 times in advance that we were down for Kosher food, turns out they didnt have our meals. Staff told us this happens a lot and if you order "kosher"  over 72 hours before the flight (We ordered thhis 6 months ago and checked about a week before the flight), many times it doesnt get added..not sure if true or not. but all i know is we didnt get food.
2) Not uniteds fault, but a passenger came to my daughters pod while she was sleeping and started shaking her pod and seat, while making very weird noises. This startled and scared her and for the remaining 5 hours of the flight she was on my wifes lap crying off and on. They asked us if we wanted to call security upon landing but we decided not to since he didnt harm her. A few min later the attendant came over and told us that they think this passenger urinated in the aisle right by my daughters seat, so they put down some powder to absorb it. The pilot was notified and they think he might have mixed ambien with Alcohol or he was on drugs or drunk.

I emailed this to united about not having kosher food and told them about this disturbance which I mentioned that I am not blaming United in any way for this as this was a passenger who created this and wasnt the airliens fault, but I asked if we could get our return home flight upgraded to polaris since we couldnt enjoy the benefits of Polaris.... United wrote me back pretty quickly apologizing for the food and saying that the staff is trained for situations like that..They cant upgrade us but they can give us $250 each (total $1000)in united credit.  I thought this was fair but some of my friends think it should be much greater.  What are your opinions? (United Platinum we are)
thank you

Everyone will have their own opinion, but I think it's fair. It's compensation for the food. Re the passenger there isn't anything they could have done differently.

Re: The 13th Global Siyum Hashas of Daf YomiAgudath Israel of America. you guys trying to buy the tickets know that no one has tickets yet? you are entering in an agreement to have them shipped to you when they are delivered in a couple months.

there should be shuls that bought chunks and have still to sell, shouldn't need to pay a premium on them. Ask around.
