California Coast PCH Master Thread this time it's a real question, I've never really done this before :)

I'm thinking of driving up the coast from LA to SF.

what are the "must sees"?

All I know is that the Big Sur area is supposed to be beautiful and I have no interest in going to hearst castle.

The funny/strange/interesting/random pictures thread Instead of sticking them in the jokes thread I think this deserves a thread of it's own.

I'll start:

Ever wondered why Fedex overnight is so expensive? here's why:

For those not familiar with the area:

Re: Arizona Master Thread
I was planning to do the reverse doing 89a from Sedona to Flagstaff near sunset time. I would assume that will be a similar experience to the reverse.
This is just a guess, but I think the timing of it works out better Flagstaff > Sedona.
If my memory serves me correctly, you'll have brighter light in the greener more mountainous area closer to Flagstaff then when you get closer to Sedona you'll have all the red rocks practically glowing with the sunset light.

when I did it I left left the flagstaff area somewhat earlier in the day and did (a chunk of) the west fork trail before continuing on to Sedona. It's a great trail, I highly recommend it. When I did it my kids were 7, 6, and just barely 3, they had a great time. It's much more pleasant than hiking the GC. I did my GC hike in the middle of January and even then it was getting quite uncomfortable once the sun starting baking down on us. The West Fork trail was mostly in the shade.

Re: Messianism among Lubavitch
Easier to waive flags than learn or ask people to put on tefilin...
It's also easier to flat out, blanketly, denounce a whole group of people whose ideology you disagree with than to recognize what they are doing right. :)

It just happens to be, that generally speaking, the "flaggers" are amongst the most dedicated to learning and mivtzoim and "the Rebbe's inyonim" in general. Of course there are exceptions, but if you look at the average "flagger" bochur you'll find that to be the case.

I have plenty of problems with them and what they do, but I can also recognize what they do right.

Re: Big Island Of Hawaii Master Thread
if I go to the kona for 7 hrs and maui for 5 hrs.
You know generally when people here say they went to OGG or LIH they don't actually mean they only went to the airport, they're using the airport code to refer to the whole island :)

Re: Iceland Master Thread
Here is a trip report from our recent trip to Iceland.
I guess this is what normal people do/see when they go to Iceland :))

Re: Site Suggestions maybe change "(2 people liked this)" to just "(2 likes)"

ETA: or maybe even better just the number itself, just have "(2)"

ETA #2: when displaying the like button it should just have the number, when the button is not being displayed it should also have the word likes.
