Re: Bed copier/scanner/printer for home use that doesn’t eat ink ink efficiency in inkjet printing is an oxymoron . The scam is well explained in this video

After a few frustrating experiences and alot of research i decided to purchase an ink tank printer, so that i could print freely. This is the one i have and i am mostly happy with .

https://www.amazon.com/Epson-Expression-Wireless-Business-Supertank/dp/B01NA8VVT3/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1550172051&sr=8-3&keywords=ink+tank+printer

Re: Bed copier/scanner/printer for home use that doesn’t eat ink As i said i did alot of research . Though no printer is perfect, IME the cons are overstated in the Ink tank (though granted i have only owned it for half a year) . I use my printer a few times a week and its works flawlessly . Again not suggesting its a perfect solution, however after much frustration with Inkjets, this experience has been refreshing (and luxurious!). Now i don't think twice about printing anything including color and long documents i want to read (or even ebooks).

Re: Bingo Wholesale Club Lakewood
.

i'm still on the fence about Bingo but this is ridiculously fake news. Why go thru the trouble of a price comparison, and then do something as obvious as only buy sales items at GG and EG. Try that in reverse and see what happens lol. Also you claim you can get that delivered at GG. That is emphatically fake news since their policy is they only deliver if there are $75 of non sale items. YOU DON'T HAVE A SINGLE NON SALE ITEM IN YOUR CART . #FakeNews

Re: Stocks
To be honest, with IPOs it is very hard for me to know when to buy or not , so I do not touch them because there is no way to look at a chart and use a technical system since there is not enough trading data.  I wait till the stock has been trading at least for several weeks. And using fundamental analysis you can never guess where the stock will go in the short term.

From a fundamentals stand point you can’t figure out how to value a company? How come? Your right about short term but that’s not what fundamentals are necessarily about...

Re: Stocks
Thanks. Trader Vic always said the most money is made trading the intermediate trend, in the long term we are all dead.  So if I go long or short a stock, futures contract or Forex, and my trade is successful, many time I can make huge profits in days, more than an investor will or will not make in a year, then i look for the next trade. Last week I shorted 3 futures palladium contracts and I stayed in the trade for 3 days and palladium lost over $200 in 2 days, over a $20000  profit per contract.
Today I went long bit coin futures , they are up like a $1000 in a 24 hour period, now over $5000 , I am about to sell and get out since I am not a believer .

care to share the trades that weren't profitable?

The person in the darn car takes the kid out. Full stop. Miscommunication? WTAH?

So you come out firing on a sensitive story, and when you get confronted to get your facts straight and read the actual story, you just double down without reading the story? Sit down.

Excerpt from the story I posted:

At that point, there was a miscommunication about whether the toddler’s mother or father would bring the toddler in from the car, the source said.

1. they removed the big water slide from the pool.

2. By breakfast, I mentioned to the (executive) chef i kept kosher, and he brought out a pan of pre-packaged Gelbstein's bagels and muffins from the freezer (along with paper utensils) . Said i should call in advance next time so they can pull out of freezer before i come. Bagels were meh but the muffins were quite good!

Anyone comparing the US now to Germany in the 30's either has a political agenda or is completely ignorant of history. I'm not saying that the recent rise in anti-semitism isn't problematic and shouldn't be addressed but fear mongering like this does nobody any good.

why does this have to be fascist germany to be alarming? Name the last "great" country where jews thrived, where they weren't eventually persecuted?

Re: The 13th Global Siyum Hashas of Daf YomiAgudath Israel of America. Have some thoughts about the siyum with a few critiques.

First of all, the actual siyum (by an audibly emotional R' Shmuel) followed by the singing and dancing of almost 100 THOUSAND (!) Yidden celebrating torah and the kiyum of klal yisroel, was one of the most inspiring and emotionally thrilling events I have ever partaken in . Additionaly, it was a rare moment of tremendous achdus, with everyone dancing in unison, regardless of their background.

It was so moving in fact, that i was left wondering why this element, the achdus that was on display, wasn't highlighted more by the speakers as a theme of the siyum to try to take with us.

Overall i thought Agudah could have done a much better job getting speakers that were more entertaining, especially considering that A. the event was very dragged out (they wanted to make sure it was full for the siyum) and B. The Weather. For example, why not have Rabbi Yoel Gold speak for 20 minutes instead of another monotonous speech by a Rosh Yeshiva (not any disrespect intended) ?

Re: Stocks
To say that future returns are not guaranteed in a fund (why is an ETF different on that?) does not address the underlying issue.  Nothing is guaranteed, anywhere.  You always look back to gauge.  One things is certain--you are not a fan of mutual funds.

Look back at what? To borrow an illustration from Jack Bogle. If you put 1012 gorillas in a gym and had all of them flip a coin 10 times, one gorilla will likely get 10 heads in a row. We would call that one lucky gorilla. Wall Street would call him a genius. Please look at all the funds that didn't beat the bench mark, not just the few that have.

Of course i'm against active high fee Mutual Funds. The only ones who like them are Financial Advisors who can charge a 5.75 % load fee + a .50 - 2% AUM fee.

This really isn't rocket science and is the consensus among any educated people in the world of finance. I am really not suggesting anything contrarian or original here.

Good point. As far as we know they only had this advantage at home. Though I wouldn’t rule out anything as to what they might do for game 7 of the World Series on the road.

Unbelievable Deal
For $10k cash you can own your own house !
And $2100 monthly payments after all fees
Its 2400 square ft.
You can get a $10k grant in new jersey for closing costs and a 97% first time home buyer mortgage

Or you can be responsible and save up until you have enough money for a normal down payment and then buy a normal house for the same monthly payments.

Also used kosher24 app a couple times, was not a perfect experience but it did the job so would recommend.

Re: Bloomberg vs Trump 2020
A "fringe" candidates that a significant part of the party will never support. Where have I heard this before? Trump won the primaries by getting 25-35% of the vote. Klobuchar and Buttigeg picking up stream makes a Bernie win more likely because they will continue to split the not-Bernie vote.

Big difference is Trump was polling in the mid thirties nationally at this point. Sanders ceiling has been around 25. Not gonna win a majority of delegates unless he can prove he can climb to higher numbers. Hence why so many people are still in it. This has contested convention written all over it. And hard to see Bernie winning at the DNC.

Interesting read regarding the tilt towards socialism.

Great article. Brings to mind all the panic caused by the government shutdown, from all the people who didn't have enough money put away to survive two missed paychecks.

Which makes me wonder if Ray Dalio would consider running for president. He has been very vocal about the divide (as referenced in the article) and strikes me as truly humble and genuine. He would have to overcome his lack of name recognition, but he definitely has the funds to launch a Bloomberg-esque campaigne.

Re: This is getting serious... a somber thread about COVID-19 It dawned on me last week, that perhaps the persecution or "holocaust" klal yisroel gets every 50-100 years (over the course of the last 5000 years) is COVID-19. All yeshivas and shuls are closed, Half of Klal Yisroel are having serious struggles with parnassa, we all know people in critical condition and it's only going to get worse. I didn't even mention quarantine and social distancing, simchos getting canceled and held in extreme "tzinna". We have no idea what the next week, month, or six months are going to look like.

It seems to me the Ribono Shel Olam is sending his cyclic reminder that he is the one running the show, and we need to be mechazek in our emunah and bitachon and avodas hashem.

Just my two cents. I don't mean to be insensitive to anyone's plight, and everyone going through tzuros has my utmost sympathy.

Re: Is there any good news in the fight against COVID-19?
Because most who I know don't get tested.

I don't believe you are not understanding. Among those that get tested, meaning they have all the symptoms and then some (depending on state requirements), the actual amount of tests that result in a positive is fairly low. In New jersey it's 29 percent (up from 27 percent yesterday). And Jersey has had some of the strictest testing requirements. Israel is around 9 percent.

The data on this website is not perfect (it acknowledges the quality of the data state by state), but it should give you a general idea.

https://covidtracking.com/data/#NJ

So unless you think there is a conceivable reason that the public that has not been tested, has a higher percentage of people who have Covid-19 than the people who actually got tested, that is a totally irrelevant fact.

Re: Is there any good news in the fight against COVID-19?
It's possible that people who are pretty certain that they have it don't bother testing. I know some like that. I can't speak for percentages but it's a possibility.

Also hearing similar from bikur cholim. There is a theory that that the frum community got hit earlier because of Purim and therefore is peaking earlier than the country as a whole. The one benefit to this (for the frum community) is obviously the healthcare resources. Time will tell. We need to keep davening and take every precaution we can.
